Hyderbad Karnataka region is the pulse hub of Karnataka state. More than 100 of insect species cause damage to stored grains. Callosobruchus analis is one of the main pest of stored pegion pea in this region Use of sweet flag, Acoruscalamus (L.) is widely spread in Asia, North America and Europe. Nanotechnology is now creating a growing sense of excitement in the life science. Nanoparticles exhibit complete new or improved properties based on specific characteristics such as size, distributions and morphology.

French bean and Pea are an important vegetable crop consumed by human being as green pods and dry seeds due to its high nutritive value as the source of the amino acid, lysine and tryptophan as well as provides valuable dietary protein in the human diet. Considering its use as a vegetable which fits well indifferent cropping systems, there is need for improvement and development of cultivars to specific agro ecological conditions. The knowledge of genetic diversity is an important tool for any breeding programme aimed to exploit hybrid vigour.

The pod yield was significantly and positively correlated with pod weight, pod girth, pericarp thickness, seed weight per pod, number of pods per plant and weight of 100 seeds. The path coefficient analysis using the phenotypic correlation coefficient among the pair of characters showed that number of pods per plant had the highest positive direct effect on yield. At last it could be concluded that PSM-3 and PSM5 are best performing varieties for this region according to green pod yield.

The cultivated pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan) is one of the most important source of protein for worlds marginal and vegetarian population. Sterility mosaic disease (SMD) also known as “green plague of pigeonpea” is one of the severe threats in pigeon pea production causing severe yield loss. Keeping this in view, identification of SMD resistant cultivars with better understanding of inheritance of disease were key consideration for the present study. RILs were screened for SMD resistance with leaf stapling technique at Green house, IBT, PJTSAU during Kharif 2012 and 2013.

Powdery mildew and Rust are major diseases of pea of worldwide distribution. Powdery mildew and Rust is an airborne disease. Powdery mildew is a particularly damaging in late sowing or in late maturity varieties. It is caused by Erysisphe pisi. The disease can cause 20-50% yield losses, reducing total yield biomass, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, plant height and number of nodes. The disease also affects green pea quality. Pea rust is characterized by the appearance of two types of symptoms.

Among the stored product insects, Callosobruhus analis (Fabricius) is a cosmopolitan and serious pest of pulses in field as well as in storage condition. The excessive use of pesticides and chemical compounds led to development of resistance, resurgence and has an adverse effect on environment. This experiment was conducted at Centre for Nanotechnology Laboratory, UAS, Raichur. In the recent years, nanotechnology has emerged as a promising tool for pest control.

Correlation at genotypic and phenotypic levels along with path coefficient analysis were studied for various yield and its component characters in twenty genotypes of pea (Pisum sativum L.) during rabi, 2009-10. Analysis of variance revealed significant difference for all the characters indicating the presence of good amount of variability in the genotypes studied. Correlation studies revealed that green pod yield per plant was positively and significantly associated with pod length, pod weight and number of grains per pod.

A manually operated multi crop inclined plate planter was designed and its performance evaluated for planting of Maize, Pigeon pea, Bengal gram, Green gram. Power was transmitted from the drive wheel to metering mechanism through chain and multi sprockets and bevel gears. Inclined plate type metering mechanism was used in the planter. Seeds were placed in the furrows at desired depth and seed to seed spacing through adjustable system.

Biology and morphometrics of blue butterfly, Lampides boeticus infesting cowpea, was studied. The eggs were disc-shaped, finely sculptured and pale green in colour. The mean egg period observed was 3.20±0.20 days. There were four larval instars. The later instars were found attended by red ants in the field. The first instar caterpillar was fringed with hairs while second instar had sparse hairs. The third and fourth instar caterpillars were slug like, pea green in colour. The average sizes of the head capsule from first to fourth instars were found to be 0.11, 0.25, 0.63 and 1.

Pea (Pisum sativum L.) is a multipurpose leguminous crop that can provide food and fodder for the small-scale farmer in subsistence agriculture. It is also known as ‘Dry Pea’ and it is called as ‘Matar’ in India. India is one of the largest producers of field pea in the world and stands at the 5th place in the list of major field pea producers. In India peas are mainly grown in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Jharkhand. Pea is widely cultivated and processed in India predominantly done manually.

Green Pea (Pisum sativum L.) is an important leguminous vegetable crop grown in the world which ranks top ten among the vegetable crops. Green pea has high nutritive value used in many culinary preparations and several medicinal actions. Processing and preservation of green peas by mathematical modeling is a major focus area and the techniques are mainly used for preservation and value addition of green peas. Several researchers have attempted for decades to model the drying kinetics and quality parameters of green peas, which Green Peas are also compiled here briefly.

Green Peas (Pisum sativum) is one of the most commonly grown food legumes in the world. Three different samples of Green Peas with respect to pre-treatments viz. raw, blanched and blanched after pricking were taken for drying experiment. A laboratory model tray dryer was used for drying green peas with different levels of drying air temperatures (50° , 60° , 70°C). The moisture content of green peas decreases an elapsed drying time during tray drying of green peas. The result shows that the blanched green peas had slightly higher moisture content than raw and pricked green peas.

Fifty-five pea (Pisum sativum L.) genotypes were evaluated using eleven morphological traits to assess the interrelationship among yield and yield-related attributes and their direct and indirect effects on seed yield. Based on the correlation coefficient analysis, seed yield per plant showed positive and significant association with green pod yield per plant, shell weight per plant, number of pods per plant and length of pod both at genotypic and phenotypic levels.

A field experiment was conducted during 2 rainy (kharif), winter (rabi) and summer seasons (2015-17) on a sandy clay loam soil at New Delhi to evaluate 5 cropping systems viz., maize–pea–okra, maize–mustard–green gram, cotton–wheat, bottle gourd–onion and okra–wheat, for productivity, profitability and energetics. The experiment was laid-out in a randomized block design replicated 4 times. Bottle gourd–onion cropping system recorded the highest wheat-grain-equivalent yield (WGEY) of 19.9 t/ha, followed by maize–pea– okra (14.06 t/ha).
