Cycocel ameliorated the osmotic stress at -4bar PEG by increasing chlorophyll contents in slow expanding shoots and increased radicle thickness enhancing root system under water stress. Remarkable effects of CCC on radicle thickness were displayed on root cap enlargement under -4 and -8 bars osmotic stress. Root growth/ radicle length was reduced drastically in kinetin treatments under all levels of water stress.

Antitranspirants are the compounds or the substances applied to the leaves of the plants for the purpose of reducing water loss (transpiration) without causing a momentous change in the various important processes of the plant such as growth and photosynthesis. Antitranspirants are generally classified into four distinct categories viz., stomatal closing type, filmforming type, reflecting type and growth retardant.

KBSH-44, a public sector sunflower hybrid has high biomass production capacity with yield comparable to other popular hybrids. This hybrid is tall with more stalk weight wherein, photo-assimilates are locked up in vegetative parts with a reduced translocation to their productive structures (seed). Any approach, which reduces the plant height, may improve the translocation efficiency to the seed and thus seed yield. In this context, a field experiment was conducted to reduce the plant height by foliar application of plant growth retardants viz.

A field experiment was conducted to know the effect of growth retardants viz, Maliec hydrazide (MH), Cycocil (CCC) and Lichocin on growth characters, seed quality, yield and yield components in cowpea during the Rabi season 2016-17. The experiment was laid out in RBD with three replications. Results revealed that the application of growth retardant reduced the plant height. The minimum plant height was recorded in MH (500 ppm).

Shrimp culture is the most lucrative aquaculture sector in Asia-Pacific region. Recently, shrimp farms in India have been affected by the microsporidian parasite, Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP) associated with retarded growth without other clinical signs, causing significant economic losses to the shrimp industry. The present study was carried out to investigate the incidence of EHP in Penaeus vannamei farms of Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, and to identify the carriers of EHP and the role of management in reducing the incidence of EHP in ponds.

Malnutrition and poor health status especially in rural areas is a common problem. It retards children growth, increases the risk and duration of illness, reduces work output, and slows social and mental development. Malnutrition among women of reproductive age increases the risk of mortality during labor and delivery and puts their newly born children at risk of long-term deficiencies. Improving nutritional status, including micronutrient status, can lead to increased productivity, increased child survival and growth, and reduced maternal morbidity and mortality.

In commercial broiler hatcheries, chicks hatch over a period of 20–36 hours. The chicks are removed from the hatch tray of the incubator after a majority of them have cleared from the eggshell. Then, the chicks undergo various hatchery practices like sexing, vaccination, packaging, and transport before they are placed in a commercial broiler farm. Thus, under practical conditions, chicks remain deprived of feed and water for about 48– 72 hours after hatching.

Cycocel reduced internode length accompanied with increased stem, root and leaf thickness. Cycocel remarkably added cells to phloem fiber, xylem fiber and xylem vessels in stem and root of treated plants. S-lignin, Glignin and H-lignin were noticed in retardant treated suppressed stem tissue of cotton.

Recent reviews have addressed issues of cigarette smoke exposure and various facets of reproduction including delayed time to conception, ovarian effects and premature menopause, implantation failure, fetal growth restriction and growth retardation, placental abnormalities, reduced fecundity, congenital abnormalities, and effects on male reproduction [32-34]. However, most prior reviews have not considered smoke's interaction with the oviduct, an organ vital to reproduction.
