Hard consistency
-
For dummies books are known for having consistent ground rules and conventions. Some of those used in this book include: Made-up words are just part of my vocabulary — you’ll get used to it, and they’re not hard to figure out. For instance, a glutenivore is someone who eats gluten; glutenated means a product has been contaminated with gluten. Glutenilicious is a scrumptious gluten-free meal, and glutenologism is a made-up word having to do with gluten!

This book consists of ten chapters and seven appendices. The chapters constitute the core of this book and are written in a style adequate for a textbook whereas the appendices provide additional perspective and are written in the style of a survey article. The relative length and ordering of the chapters (and appendices) does not reflect their relative importance but rather an attempt at the best logical order (i.e., minimizing the number of forward pointers).

Lycium barbarum polysaccharide was considered as a new raw material in the making of functional yogurt. The present study was conducted to study the gel properties of acidity, water holding capacity, viscosity, hardness, consistency, cohesion, viscosity and microbiological characteristics in yoghurt samples produced with different concentrations of lycium barbarum polysaccharide.

Collagenous fibroma or desmoplastic fibroblastoma is a rare benign fibrous tissue tumor. It usually presents as a painless, slowly growing mass. Collagenous fibroma arises ordinarily inside the subcutaneous tissues or skeletal muscles. Histopathologically, the tumor consists of scattered stellate and spindle cells in a hypovascular col‑ lagenous stroma without atypia or infiltration.

Unskilled birth attendance is a major public health concern in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Existing studies are hardly focused on the socio-demographic correlates and geospatial distribution of unskilled birth attendance in Chad (a country in SSA), although the country has consistently been identified as having one of the highest prevalence of maternal and neonatal deaths in the world.

Lecture Making hard decisions with the decision tool suite (3e) - Chapter 15: Utility Axioms, Paradoxes, and Implications. After completing this section, you will understand knowledge about the axiomatic foundations of utility theory; certain paradoxes from cognitive psychology that affect decision making; why and how people do not make choices that are perfectly consistent with the axioms; yet they agree that the axioms are reasonable!; implications and paradoxes of decision making,...

Orthologs inference is the starting point of most comparative genomics studies, and a plethora of methods have been designed in the last decade to address this challenging task. In this paper we focus on the problems of deciding consistency with a species tree (known or not) of a partial set of orthology/paralogy relationships C on a collection of n genes.

Hard consistency, developed under the influence of tumor cell factors, is a characteristic feature of a breast tumor. Activation of resident fibroblasts leading to a myofibroblast phenotype is the principal feature that orchestrates this fibrotic process.

The roof of the oropharynx was formed by the hard palate and its anterior two third was divided by a median palatine ridge into right and left halves in flamingo followed by great Indian horned owl, emu, peahen. In buderiger the median palatine ridge was not noticed. The hard palate presented a long single median cleft called the choanal cleft which connected the oral cavity to the nasal cavity. The shape of the avian choanal cleft presented species to species difference in the present study.

The present study was done on eighteen cows with a history of milk flow disorders under conventional milking pattern, divided into 3 groups of 6 animals each based on the type of obstructive lesion viz; focal (TypeI), Diffuse (Type II) and membranous (Type III) respectively. Out of 18 cows 17 were crossbred jersey and one was crossbred Holstein Friesian aged between 3.5-7 years presented during 2nd -4 th lactation and maintained with calves alive and all were suckling except one. In the present study, teat obstruction was noticed predominantly on right fore teat.

The study evaluated the morphology and physico- chemical, and characteristics as well as the nutrient status of two degraded lowland soils located in Yamuna river bank of Mahewa village area of Prayagraj. Profile depth of 1m, with 20cm interval for 5 different samples are examined for their morphology, physical and chemical properties. Total numbers of 5 samples were collected from different depth at 20cm interval through a profile. All field laboratory analyses were done following standard procedures.

Buchanania lanzan (Chironji) a member of family Anacardiaceae consist of a hard nut that on decortication yields kernel containing 52% of oil and this oil is used as a substitute for olive and almond oil. Also, kernel is used for sweet meals, medicinal purpose, cosmetics etc. By manual decortication the capacity was observed to be minimum and recovery of whole kernel was nearly 12% only. This manual method is time consuming, laborious, inefficient and there is fear of injury to fingers.

In recent times, „Blended Instruction‟ - an effective method of instructions utilizing e-Learning materials in English education - consists of an individual learning part, a collaborative learning part and a teacher instruction part. In the individual learning, students act out model dialogues in the WBT courseware which incorporated a high quantity of video and sound clips. In the collaborative learning, students perform the dialogues in pairs and assessed each other‟s performance.

We examine the first phase of a known NP-hard 2-stage assembly problem. It consists of sequencing a set of jobs having multiple components to be processed. Each job has to be worked on independently on a specific machine. We consider these jobs to form a vector of tasks. Our objective is to schedule jobs on the particular machines in order to minimize the completion time before the second stage starts.

Natural language generation (NLG) systems are notoriously hard to evaluate. On the one hand, simply comparing system outputs to a gold standard is not appropriate because there can be multiple generated outputs that are equally good, and finding metrics that account for this variability and produce results consistent with human judgments and task performance measures is difficult (Belz and Gatt, 2008; Stent et al., 2005; Foster, 2008). On the other hand, lab-based evaluations with human subjects to assess each aspect of the system’s functionality are expensive and time-consuming. ...

When translating from languages with hardly any inflectional morphology like English into morphologically rich languages, the English word forms often do not contain enough information for producing the correct fullform in the target language. We investigate methods for improving the quality of such translations by making use of part-ofspeech information and maximum entropy modeling. Results for translations from English into Spanish and Catalan are presented on the LC-STAR corpus which consists of spontaneously spoken dialogues in the domain of appointment scheduling and travel planning.

However, the Government is concerned about one section of the UK‘s media market that has consistently struggled to establish itself as a viable and sustainable force. Local television is common and popular across other parts of the world especially in Europe and North America where there are well- established local television services distinct from regional or national broadcasts. Ofcom research identified that for most people, the term ‗local‘ means a person‘s village, town or city – the immediate location in which they live5 .

However, such a strategy is inappropriate for the United States in current circumstances. Inflation expectations appear reasonably well-anchored, and both inflation expectations and actual inflation remain within a range consistent with price stability. In this context, raising the inflation objective would likely entail much greater costs than benefits. Inflation would be higher and probably more volatile under such a policy, undermining confidence and the ability of firms and households to make longer- term plans, while squandering the Fed’s hard-won inflation credibility.
