Harvesting time

This study investigated the influence of culture media and culture time on the antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities of the methanol extract obtained from the mycobiont of Graphis handelii. Different culture media, including MIX, PDA, and SAB4%, were employed to culture the mycobiont, and the biomass was harvested during different culture periods (4, 8, and 12 weeks).

Currently, cricket farming is becoming more and more popular since it brings high economic efficiency to farmers. Crickets can be raised in a small area, are easy to care for, have a short harvest time, and have no pollution problem. This paper provides insight into the effects of three types of food on the growth and development of crickets (Gryllus bimaculatus) and proposes the rearing process of crickets.

We measured cocrystals of the membrane protein Photosystem I with its soluble electron acceptor ferredoxin for the first time at the ALS (Berkeley, CA). Previous data collected at our home source and at other synchrotron sources showed crystals with very high mosaicity (2–5%) and a diffraction limit to 7–8 Aresolution. This first beamtime at ALS was very successful and may represent a breakthrough for the determination of the crystal structure. 110 crystals, grown under modified crystallization conditions, were scanned and for the first time, crystals diffraction to 3.5 A were observed....

Detailed assessment of impacts of more than 50 Farmer Field Schools (FFS) in 11 provinces through which over 2,000 farmers were trained from 2005 to 2006 has shown many beneficial effects.
