The aim of this research was to investigate the effect of thermal treatments, including roasting, microwaving, and steaming, on anti-nutritional factors and physical and antioxidant properties of black gram (Vigna cylindrica L. Skeels). Regarding its physical properties, thermal treatment increased the water-holding capacity (WHC) and decreased the oil-holding capacity (OHC) of the black gram samples.

Remote Radio Unit RRU 4G LTE Heatsink systems works based on the natural convection cooling, usually working outdoors in the harsh conditions of temperature, humidity, hoarfrost. In this study, the paper uses a real model of 4G RRU device with the capacity of 2x40W and 2x60W. Model is made of parallel heat sinks and is naturally cooled.

A new bio-based microencapsulated phase change material (MEPCM) was synthesised by an in situ polymerisation method, and its thermal energy storage properties were experimentally studied. Biobased n-dodecanoic acid with a high heat storage capacity was encapsulated by a melamineformaldehyde (MF) polymeric shell.

We have studied the magnetic properties of a LuVO3 single crystal. The compound shows an orbital ordering at TOO ¼ 179 K followed by the antiferromagnetic spin ordering at TSO ¼ 109 K. In the magnetically ordered regime, there appears an abrupt change at To ¼ 82.5 K in the magnetisation, indicating a first-order transition.

In the present work, we calculate the heat capacities of 161−164Dy nuclei using the most recent recommended NLD data in Ref in combination with the BSFG NLD model with energy-dependent parameters. The updated heat capacities will be compared with those reported in 2003 and 2012 in Refs.

This study aims to use CFD analysis of CT scan data from the nasal cavities of a range of older Asian males to investigate the impact of geometric variations between older nasal cavities on the airflow structures and airconditioning capacity of the nasal cavity. Air flow mechanisms, heat transfer rates and humidification efficacy are analysed in order to arrive at a more precise understanding of the role of nasal geometry in the presentation of respiratory ailments.

During a hypothetical severe accident of a Nordic boiling water reactor (BWR), an ex-vessel particulate debris bed is expected to form in the flooded lower drywell due to melt-coolant interactions after vessel failure. The key parameter to evaluate debris bed coolability is the dryout heat flux (DHF) or dryout power density, representing the limit of heat removal capacity by the coolant.

This study has been prepared in accordance with the objectives of evaluating and developing geothermal resources in order to bring the geothermal resources in the Konya Plain Project (KOP) Region, which includes Aksaray, Kırşehir, Konya, Nevşehir, Niğde and Yozgat provinces, to the country’s economy with maximum capacity, and to develop proposals for investments to be made. The number of overnight stays and the number of tourists outside the region should be increased by utilizing alternative tourism opportunities in the region.

CO2 adsorption capacities of activated carbon-based adsorbents subjected to different treatments, such as HNO3 oxidation, air oxidation, alkali impregnation, and heat treatment under helium gas atmosphere, were determined by gravimetric analyses and reported previously by our group. In the current work, the experimental adsorption isotherms of these modified activated carbon samples were fitted to Langmuir, Freundlich, and Dubinin–Radushkevich (D-R) models.

Low-cost activated carbon (AC) samples obtained from waste coffee grounds were used for CO2 and CH4 adsorption. ACs were prepared by chemical activation and carbonized at three different temperatures. AC carbonized at 800◦C showed a relatively high surface area (582.92 m2 g−1) and high adsorption capacities of 2.6 mmol g−1 and 1.1 mmol g−1 at 25◦C for CO2 and CH4, respectively. Adsorbent samples were prepared by loading of Fe3+ metal ions onto ACs and their adsorption capacities were compared with those of nonloaded ACs.

Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp) is an important legume crop due to its high protein content, adaptation to heat and drought and capacity to fix nitrogen. Europe has a deficit of cowpea production. Knowledge of genetic diversity among cowpea landraces is important for the preservation of local varieties and is the basis to obtain improved varieties. The aims of this study were to explore diversity and the genetic structure of a set of Iberian Peninsula cowpea accessions in comparison to a worldwide collection and to infer possible dispersion routes of cultivated cowpea.

Heat tolerance is a key parameter that affects insect distribution and abundance. Glyphodes pyloalis Walker (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) is a devastating pest of mulberry in the main mulberry-growing regions and can cause tremendous losses to sericulture by directly feeding on mulberry leaves and transmitting viruses to Bombyx mori. Moreover, G. pyloalis shows a prominent capacity for adaptation to daily and seasonal temperature fluctuations and can survive several hours under high temperature.
