High tree branches

Dendrobium nobile Lindl.(Orchidaceae), Vietnamese name as Hoang thao dui ga is an epiphytic plant on high tree branches. It grows widely in humid mountainous areas in Vietnam. The plant is used to treat fever, dry mouth, dry throat, increase vitality in traditional medicine.

The reference marker set (30 markers) was used to evaluate the genetic diversity and DNA fingerprinting of 19 standard reference rice varieties. The results showed the similarity coefficient of 19 varieties varied from 0.04 to 0.548. At the genetic similarity coefficient of 0.1, the 19 rice varieties divided into two main groups. Group one included 3 varieties: DH1, DH5, DH13. Group 2 included the remaining 16 varieties. Inside group two, phylogenetic tree divided into two main branches at the genetic similarity coefficient of 0.3.

Chironji, a multipurpose tree provides food, fuel, fodder, timber and medicine to the local community. The species is well known for its kernel which has high nutritive value with rich source of fat, protein and mineral. “Acacia hybrids” refers to the inter-specific hybrids of A. mangium and A. auriculiformis, including natural, artificial and polyploid ones. The superiorities of selected acacia hybrid are fast growth, straight stem form, small branches, high productivity, and high ratio of wood utilisation. Acacia hybrids are recognized as having a higher pulping potential and greater soil improvement ability than that of the parental species, which may be shown to have 2.5-13 times larger numbers of nitrogen - fixing nodules on its roots in nursery stage.

The present results revealed that sections Onobrychoidei DC. and Ornithopodium Bunge are interrelated taxa and form a single monophyletic group. The current status of section Dissitiflori DC. is a nonmonophyletic group. Its members form several subclades and unresolved branches across the tree. Sections Erioceras Bunge and Cytisodes Bunge as well as Corethrum Bunge are sister taxa and form weakly to highly supported monophyletic groups, respectively.
