Using a case study of Raglai ethnic families in Khanh Son, Khanh Vinh districts and Cam Ranh City (Khanh Hoa province), the paper initially explores the decision-making power of men and women in matriarchal families under the infl uences of the reformand integration process. The survey results show that the status, role and power of the wife and the husband in the family have changed considerably towards a positive trend.

Agriculture plays a predominant role in Indian economy and contributes 18 per cent to India’s gross domestic product. Farmers have to take series of decisions to make farming a viable enterprise. A study was planned to know the decision making behaviour and its influence on the socio economic performance of farm households. The respondents were chosen from three districts viz. Gender Empowerment has been a highly focused area over three decades to empower women so that they can be made free from the mettle of exploitation, deprivation, and social impoverishment. The study was conducted in Haringhata Block under Nadia district of West Bengal. Both purposive as well as simple random sampling was adopted for selection of 100 respondents in five mouzas of the selected block. The present study envisages two components viz. livelihood and income generation as to have conceptual and operational contribution in empowering women adequately and workably.

This study examines how financial literacy and financial innovation can improve financial inclusion among households in Uganda. Large sections of the population in rural and urban areas in Uganda still remain out of the coverage of formal financial systems. The study uses a cross sectional survey research design. To improve their influence on SRH legislation, policy and spending decisions at all levels, it is necessary to strengthen the capacity of marginalised people and of other civil society organisations concerned with SRH including women’s groups, health and human rights groups and elected representatives so they can better negotiate for their demands. Civil society groups should collect evidence to support these demands, support marginalised people to express their concerns, and form alliances to strengthen their representation.
