In this work, the influences of the soil densities and the radionuclide depth distributions (RDD) on the Full Energy Peak Efficiency (FEPE) calculation of the in-situ gamma ray spectrometer using the In Situ Object Counting Systems (ISOCS) software were studied. The data of the RDDs at the sites were investigated by using laboratory HPGe gamma spectrometer.

In this study, aerosol samples at Hanoi, Vietnam from February 2017 to January 2018 collected on the glass fiber filter were analyzed for 210Pb by using HPGe spectrometry. 210Pb weekly activity concentrations were in the range of 0.12 mBq.m-3 to 2.87 mBq.m-3 with an average value of 0.92 mBq.m-3 and 210Pb monthly activity concentrations were in the range of 0.99 mBq.m-3 to 9.24 mBq.m-3 with an average value of 4.01 mBq.m-3.

In this study, an in-house 152Eu calibration source was produced from a custom epoxy matrix with a density of r ¼ 1.14 g cm3 , which is chemically stable and durable form after its solidification. The homogeneity of 152Eu in matrix was obtained better than 98%. For a Marinelli beaker geometry, an efficiency calibration procedure was applied to a n-type, coaxial, 78.5% relative efficient HPGe detector in the energy range of 121.7e1408.0 keV by using in-house 152Eu calibration source.

The activity concentrations of the natural radionuclides 226Ra, 232Th and 40K in soil samples were measured by a gamma spectrometer with a HPGe detector. The average activity concentrations of the natural radionuclides 226Ra, 232Th and 40K are 43.8 ± 5.6, 57.0 ± 7.3 and 426.4 ± 23.1 Bq.kg-1, respectively. The average activity concentrations of 226Ra and 232Th in this work are higher than those of the world average values.

The bremsstrahlung beam with energy end point of 65M eV created when the e− beam with energy of 65M eV irradiated to thin wolfram target was used to irradiate to TiO2 sample in order to make the 46 Ti (γ, pn)44m,g Sc reaction. The gamma spectrum of Sc44m,g was analyzed by the gammavision spectrometry with HPGe detector at linear accelerator laboratory in POSTECH, Korea.
