Humoral immune responses to infectious agents or vaccination vary substantially among individuals, and many of the factors responsible for this variability remain to be defined. Current evidence suggests that human genetic variation influences (i) serum immunoglobulin levels, (ii) seroconversion rates, and (iii) intensity of antigenspecific immune responses.

Post-transplantation anemia is common among renal transplant recipients (RTR). The most frequent causes are erythropoietin deficiency, acute allograft rejection, iron deficiency, hemolytic anemia, adverse effects of immunosuppressive therapy, and virus infection. Human parvovirus B19 (HPV B19) can cause persistent viremia and erythropoietin-resistant erythroid aplasia in immunosuppressed patients.

RC48-antibody-drug conjugates (ADC) link humanized anti-HER2 immunoglobulin with monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE). Clinical trials suggest promising antitumor activity in HER2-expressing solid tumors. This study probes RC48-ADC’s efficacy and safety in patients with HER2-expressing advanced or metastatic solid tumors.

Next generation human therapeutic monoclonal antibodies (t-mAbs) are harder to quantify with the widely used bottom-up tryptic digestion method. Due to their homology with endogenous immunoglobulins, there is a lack of unique and stable ‘signature’ peptides that can be targeted. Middle-up two dimensional liquid chromatography high resolution mass spectrometry (2D-LC-HRMS), targeting the entire light chain, was examined as an alternative.

Partitioning the human immunoglobulin variable region into variable (V), diversity (D), and joining (J) segments is a common sequence analysis step. We introduce a novel approximate dynamic programming method that uses conserved immunoglobulin gene motifs to improve performance of aligning V-segments of rearranged immunoglobulin (Ig) genes.

Repertoire analysis of patient-derived recombinant monoclonal antibodies is an important tool to study the role of B cells in autoimmune diseases of the human brain and beyond. Current protocols for generation of patient-derived recombinant monoclonal antibody libraries are time-consuming and contain repetitive steps, some of which can be assisted with the help of software automation.

Human bocavirus (HBoV) was first identified as parvovirus in 2005 in nasopharyngeal aspirates of children with lower respiratory tract infection. The objectives of this study were to determine HBoV as a cause of acute lower respiratory tract infection(ALRTI) in children by investigating the presence of HBoV DNA, to evaluate diagnostic efficiency of HBov IgM assay in the serum of the studied patients and to assess the impact of the viral load on the clinical manifestations of children with positive HBoV DNA samples.

Kawasaki disease (KD) is an acute febrile vasculitis in childhood, which is the leading cause of acquired heart disease in children. If untreated, KD can result in coronary aneurysms in 25% of patients, and even under intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) treatment, 10–20% of children will have IVIG resistance and increased risk of developing coronary arteritis complication.

Intensification in aquaculture practices has resulted the development of various diseases caused due to pathogens and water quality issues. In recent times, the usage of antibiotics for controlling bacterial diseases in aquaculture has been proven unsustainable and barren due to development of antibiotic resistance in pathogens one of the greatest human health challenges of the 21st century. Many measures have been used as potential alternatives to antibiotics including organic and inorganic acids, antibodies, probiotics and herbal products.

One of the tragedies that confront the pregnant woman and physician providing obstetric care is the occurrence of fetal death. It is reported that toxoplasmosis, one among protozoal infections have a high incidence in pregnancy, sometimes causing fetal death. Toxoplasmosis is caused by a coccidian parasite, Toxoplasma gondii which is highly prevalent both in humans and warm-blooded animals. The study was intended to observe the prevalence of Toxoplasmosis in pregnant women presenting with bad obstetric history (BOH).
