The deregulation of microRNA-140 (miRNA-140) has been reported to be involved in the human pathogenesis of Osteoarthritis (OA). However, in Vietnam, to our knowledge, there is a limited study of evaluation of a miRNA-140 expression. The commercial kits for the quantitation of miRNA-140 are more expensive.

Anterior cruciate ligament rupture (ACLR) is a debilitating and potentially life-changing condition in humans, as there is a high prevalence of early-onset osteoarthritis after injury. Identification of high-risk individuals before they become patients is important, as post-treatment lifetime burden of ACLR in the USA ranges from $7.6 to $17.7 billion annually. ACLR is a complex disease with multiple risk factors including genetic predisposition.

To evaluate the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma in combination with human mesenchymal stem cells from autologous adipose tissue for knee osteoarthritis treatment. Research object and method: In the study, there are 30 patients including 26 females and 4 males; correspondingly, 60 knee joints were diagnosed with osteoarthritis according to the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) who are at the mean age of 58,63 ± 11.11, disease duration is from 5,3± 4,6 years which is respectively of stages II - III according to Kellgren and Lawrence.

Acupuncture has been used as a treatment for pain associated with osteoarthritis (OA) for thousands of years; however, there is a lack of definitive evidence for this indication in humans or animals. The aim of this study was to prospectively evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture on lameness and clinical function in dogs affected by naturally-occurring OA using objective outcome measures.

Acrolein is a known pro-inflammatory toxic aldehyde, propagating cellular damage and tissue inflammation in humans and animal models of various diseases. Osteoarthritis (OA) has a signifcant infammatory component; however, presence of acrolein in synovial fluid of joints with OA has not been previously reported.

Impaired stability is a risk factor in knee osteoarthritis (OA), where the whole joint and not only the joint cartilage is affected. The meniscus provides joint stability and is involved in the early pathological progress of OA.

Nutrient levels are known to influence the development of osteoarthritis (OA), presumably by modulating levels of matrix biosynthesis and degradation. These processes may be affected by ascorbic acid (AA), an antioxidant which acts as a cofactor for numerous biochemical reactions and is essential for post-translational modifications of collagen.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common degenerative joint disorder, and a major cause of pain and disability among the elderly. Histone deacetylase 4 (HDAC4) has been shown to be a key regulator of chondrocyte hypertrophy during skeletogenesis.

Although osteoarthritis (OA) is a multifactorial disease, little has been reported regarding the cooperative interaction among these factors on cartilage metabolism. Here we examined the synergistic effect of ovariectomy (OVX) and excessive mechanical stress (forced running) on articular cartilage homeostasis in a mouse model resembling a human postmenopausal condition.

Research suggests that vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) levels in the synovial fluid of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) patients are positively correlated with KOA severity. The relationship between synovial VEGF levels and pain in human KOA patients is not fully understood, and the role of VEGF in the pain pathway remains unclear.

To determine effects of allogeneic human chondrocytes expressing TGF-β1 (TG-C) on structural progression of MRI features of knee osteoarthritis over a 1 year period. Intraarticular treatment with TG-C showed fewer patients in the treated group with progression in structural OA features and other MRI-defined inflammatory markers such as Hoffa-synovitis and effusion-synovitis.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is now increasingly recognized as being related to the whole joint instead of the cartilage alone. In particular, the importance of subchondral bone in OA pathogenesis has drawn a lot of interest. The aim of this study is to investigate subchondral bone microstructural features in two femoral condyles of human knee osteoarthritis.

Human adipose-derived Mesenchymal stem cells (HADMSCs) have proven their efficacy in treating osteoarthritis (OA), in earlier preclinical and clinical studies. As the tissue repairers are under the control of mechanical and biochemical signals, improving regeneration outcomes using such signals has of late been the focus of attention.
