Listeriosis was important bacterial disease public health significance affecting human as well as animals. Determination of the seroprevalance of antibodies to L. monocytogenes in cattle was attempted from the different organized cattle farm around the Nagpur region, Maharashtra India. Listeriolysin O is a haemolysin produced by the bacterium listeria monocytogenes for serological characterization. Present studies were targeted for serological detection of listeriolysin O in cattle serum. Serological prevalence in healthy animal was 4.

Sự chậm động dục do sai hỏng chu kỳ động dục ở bò làm giảm hiệu quả kinh tế cho ngành chăn nuôi Việt Nam.

The transcription factor serum response factor (SRF) regulates expression of growth factor-dependent genes and muscle-specific genes in vertebrates. Homologous factors regulate differentiation of some ectodermic tissues in invertebrates. To explore the molecular basis of these different physiological functions, the functionality of human, Drosophila melanogaster and Artemia franciscana SRFs in mammalian cells has been compared in this article. D. melanogaster and, to a lesser extend, A.

A comparative study of thermodynamic and kinetic aspects of Cu(II) and Ni(II) binding at the N-terminal binding site of human and bovine serum albumins (HSA and BSA, respectively) and short peptide analogues was performed using potentiometry and spectroscopic techniques. It was found that while qualitative aspects of interaction (spectra and structures of complexes, order of reactions) could be reproduced, the quantitative parameters (stability and rate constants) could not.

The structure of post-translational modifications of human heparin cofactor II isolated from human serum and from recombinant Chinese hamster ovary cells and their effects on heparin binding have been characterized. Oligosaccharide chains were found attached to all three potential N-glycosylation sites in both protein preparations. The carbohydrate structures of heparin cofactor II circulating in blood are complex-type diantennary and triantennary chains in a ratio of 6 : 1 with the galactose being 90% sialylated with a2 fi 6 linked N-acetylneuraminic acid....

Selenium (Se) is well known to be essential for cell culture when using a serum-free medium, but not when a medium containing serum is used. This finding suggests that serum contains some usable formof Se. To identify the Se-supplier, T-lymphoma (Jurkat) cells were cultured for 3 days in the presence of human serum immunodepleted of Se-containing serum protein, selenoprotein Por extracellular glutathione peroxidase.

Human serum albumin (HSA) is best known for its extraordinary ligand binding capacity. HSA has a high affinity for heme and is responsible for the transport of medium and long chain fatty acids. Here, we report myri-state binding to the N and B conformational states of Mn(III)heme–HSA (i.e. at pH 7.0 and 10.0, respectively) as investigated by optical absorbance and NMR spectroscopy. At pH 7.0, Mn(III)heme binds to HSA with lower affinity than Fe(III)heme, and displays a water molecule coordinated to the metal....

Although of major impact in terms of biological and environmental haz-ards, interactions of actinide cations with biological molecules are only par-tially understood. Human serum transferrin (Tf) is one of the major iron carriers in charge of iron regulation in the cell cycle and consequently con-tamination by actinide cations is a critical issue of nuclear toxicology. Combined X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and near infrared absorp-tion spectrometry were used to characterize a new complex between Tf and Np (IV) with the synergistic nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) anion....

Cys34 in domain I of the three-domain serum protein albumin is the bind-ing site for a wide variety of biologically and clinically important small molecules, provides antioxidant activity, and constitutes the largest portion of free thiol in blood. Analysis of X-ray structures of albumin reveals that the loop containing Tyr84 occurs in multiple conformations. In structures where the loop is well defined, there appears to be an H-bond between the OH of Tyr84 and the sulfur of Cys34.

The changes in the far-UV CD signal, intrinsic tryptophan fluorescence and bilirubin absorbance showed that the guanidine hydrochloride (GdnHCl)-induced unfolding of a multidomain protein, human serum albumin (HSA), followed a two-state process. However, using environment sensitive Nile red fluorescence, the unfolding and folding pathways ofHSA were found to followa three-state process andanintermediatewas detectedinthe range0.25–1.5M GdnHCl.

Genistein and daidzein, the major isoflavones present in soybeans, possess a wide spectrum of physiological and pharmacological functions. The bind-ing of genistein to human serum albumin (HSA) has been investigated by equilibrium dialysis, fluorescence measurements, CD and molecular visuali-zation. One mole of genistein is bound per mole of HSA with a binding constant of 1.5 ± 0.2·10 5 m )1 . Binding of genistein to HSA precludes the attachment of daidzein.

Human serum albumin (HSA), the most prominent protein in plasma, is best known for its exceptional capacity to bind ligands (e.g. heme and drugs). Here, binding of the anti-HIV drugs abacavir, atazanavir, didano-sine, efavirenz, emtricitabine, lamivudine, nelfinavir, nevirapine, ritonavir, saquinavir, stavudine, and zidovudine to HSA and ferric heme–HSA is reported.

Human serum albumin (HSA) exists in both reduced and oxidized forms, and the percentage of oxidized albumin increases in several diseases. How-ever, little is known regarding the pathophysiological significance of oxida-tion due to poor characterization of the precise structural and functional properties of oxidized HSA.

Human serum albumin (HSA) has an extraordinary ligand-binding capac-ity, and transports Fe(III)heme and medium- and long-chain fatty acids. In human immunodeficiency virus-infected patients the administered drugs bind to HSA and act as allosteric effectors. Here, the binding of Fe(III)-heme to HSA in the presence of three representative anti-HIV drugs and myristate is investigated.

Human serum albumin (HSA) is known for its exceptional ligand-binding capacity; indeed, its modular domain organization provides a variety of ligand-binding sites. Its flexible modular structure involves more than the immediate vicinity of the binding site(s), affecting the ligand-binding prop-erties of the whole protein.
