  • Ebook "The mesoscopic theory of polymer dynamics" presented in this book explains in a consistent manner all dynamic effects (diffusion, neutron scattering, viscoelasticity, optical birefringence) observed in very concentrated solutions and melts of linear polymers from a macromolecular point of view. This monograph reconciles different approaches to polymer dynamics and reflects the modern situation in understanding the relaxation behaviour of the polymer systems.

  • Polymers bearing quaternized 4-vinylpyridine (QVP) groups are known for their antibacterial activities and these polymers can form polyelectrolyte complexes (PEC) with polyanions through electrostatic interactions. PEC formation can be used to adjust the antibacterial activity of polymers of QVP, deliver active molecules, or design antibacterial supramolecular structures. However, the antibacterial activity of PECs of QVP polymers has not been investigated. In this study, a copolymer of QVP was mixed with polyacrylic acid in various molar ratios of components to form PECs.

  • Finite element method (FEM) is the most widely used approach in the simulation of micro-nano devices before actual fabrication. Using simulation software, 2D and 3D structures of the device are designed, meshed, and then simulated to optimize their parameters. In this work, we modeled and simulated the hydrodynamic trapping of micro-particle (μP) representing for single-cell in the microfluidic system. Besides, the interaction between μP and fluid, the effect of flow velocity, and the pressure field variation for increasing the trapping efficiency were investigated.

  • Numerical wave flumes are useful in predicting detailed flow patterns due to wave breaking in the surf zone, which is very important in design of coastal structures. In this study, the CADMASSURF model (2001) is used to get insight into cross-shore wave and flow processes in the surf zone, and to some extent, to evaluate the impact of waves to a typical seawall in Vietnam.

  • The litho-hydrodynamic and environmental conditions in the Vietnamese coastal estuarine basin are significantly affected by the land-ocean-atmosphere interaction processes whish tide has a determining role. Application of the coupled 1D, 2D and 3D modeling system could resolve this complicated problem but it requires other solutions related with the boundary and coupling conditions.

  • Tài liệu present: the use of acoustic energy in food or bioprocessing operations is a relatively new endeavor if compared with other sources of energy, such as mechanical or thermal, which have been utilized for centuries in various applications. There are two important factors that make the current ultrasound-assisted processes possible. One is related with the development in ultrasound generation technology and the other one is the better understanding of interactions between acoustic energy and liquid media, enabling the development of important guidelines for ultrasound-based processes.

  • Since the dawn of civilisation human society has been shaped by its interaction with water—whether too much or too little. Indeed, water is one of the powerful forces of nature that have formed the planet on which we live. Floods are not new—they continually make news because of both tragic effects on individuals and acts of heroism in the emergency. The impact of floods on people can be dramatic even if there are no fatalities; pictures of rescue make good television material with stories told of bravery and fortunate escapes.

  • Summary. Turbulence is a complex phenomenon, characterized by many interacting degrees of spatial and temporal freedom. It is widespread, and indeed nearly the rule, in the flow of classical fluids. The complexity of the underlying equations has impeded analytical progress and therefore direct numerical simulations of the equations, as well as experimental work, are key to making further progress. Here, special attention is given to the role of low temperature helium as a test fluid, including the superfluid phase which also exhibits turbulence....

  • The inner magnetosphere is an important region of space plasma because it is one of the “kitchens” for space weather effects. The scientific understanding of this region is important for predicting the interaction between space environmental conditions and human activities. The inner magnetospheric plasma is a unique composition of different plasma particles and waves. It covers a huge plasma energy range with spatial and time variations of many orders of magnitude.
