A high-speed dispersion homogenization-assisted alkali fusion-hydrothermal method was successfully developed for the preparation of NaA zeolite molecular sieve with excellent adsorption performance for ammonia nitrogen using solid waste fly ash. This study establishes a vital research foundation for the utilization of fly ash and the treatment of ammonia nitrogen wastewater, with great ecological and social benefits.

Two copper phyllosilicates were prepared via co-precipitation accompanied by hydrothermal treatment at pH constant. The obtained materials were physically characterized by XRD, H2-TPR, TEM, BET and XPS techniques. The results indicated that Cu(II) ions were successfully intercalated into the phyllosilicate framework at a low Cu/Si molar ratio.

Nitrogen content in graphene influences application performance. Although many studies have been conducted on single-process nitrogen (N)-doping, dopant content is still quite low. First, graphene oxide (GO) was hydrothermally nitrogen-doped. This nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide (NrGO) was then subjected to secondary plasma treatment. Three kinds of hierarchical Mordenite Framework Inverted (MFI)-type nanozeolites including Si-MFI, Al-MFI and Ti-MFI were successfully synthesized by two-stage varying temperature hydrothermal treatment. Taking toluene as the probe molecule, a series of methods were used to evaluate the adsorption properties of as-synthesized hierarchical zeolites samples including the adsorption breakthrough curves, simulation of adsorption isotherms as well as kinetics models and toluene-TPD (the temperature programmed desorption of toluene).

This study aimed to develop a photocatalyst that responds to visible light. For the preparation of visible light sensitive photocatalysts, N was doped into TiO2(N-TiO2). To inhibit the recombination of excited electrons and holes, transition metals (M = Pt, Cu, Fe, Cr) were loaded on the N-TiO2. N-TiO2 nanotubes were also synthesized by a hydrothermal treatment of the prepared N-TiO2 in a strong basic environment.

ZnO powder was synthesized via a hydrothermally assisted sol-gel method. Synthesis variables including Znprecursor type, pH value, time, and temperature of hydrothermal treatment were analyzed using the Taguchi approach. The experimental procedures were defined based on the L9 array for four variables in three levels. The influences of those variables on the response parameters, i.e. crystallite size, crystallinity, band gap energy (Eg), and degradation constants (k), were evaluated. XRD results and Eg values showed that ZnO wurtzite appeared to be the only crystalline phase in the samples.

This study reports the preparation of poly(sodium-4-styrene sulfonate) (PSS) treated bentonite and clinoptilolite to prevent the agglomeration and sedimentation of these inorganic fillers during the preparation of hydrogel. For this purpose PSS treated fillers were prepared by using various techniques (dip and dry, hydrothermal, one-step ball milling and ultrasonication methods). The most suitable technique for preparing these PSS treated inorganic fillers (abbreviated as BP-dip and CP-dip) was the dip and dry method.
