Identifying repeated factors

Falls incidence rate and comprehensive data on factors that predict occasional and repeated falls from large population-based studies are scarce. In this study, we aimed to determine the incidence of falls and identify predictors of occasional and recurrent falls. This was done in the social, medical, physical, nutritional, biochemical, cognitive dimensions among community-dwelling older Malaysians.

Epidural catheter re-siting in parturients receiving labour epidural analgesia is distressing to the parturient and places them at increased complications from a repeat procedure. The aim of this study was to develop and validate a clinical risk factor model to predict the incidence of epidural catheter re-siting in labour analgesia.

Identifying repeated factors that occur in a string of letters or common factors that occur in a set of strings represents an important task in computer science and biology. Such patterns are called motifs, and the process of identifying them is called motif extraction.

Although EGFR-TKI is the preferred treatment for NSCLC patients with sensitive mutations, subsequent drug resistance is almost inevitable. The specific mechanisms of EGFR-TKI drug resistance can be identified through repeat biopsy.

Viral diseases are one of the major factors threatening crop production worldwide. It is estimated that about 15 percent of global crop production is lost due to various plant diseases, and phytopathogenic viruses are thought to cause more than one third of plant diseases. Viruses such as TYLCV, PRSV, CMV, BBTV are some major virus epidemics which cause heavy losses in horticultural crops. Management of plant virus diseases have acquired great importance in the realm of Plant Pathology and call for effective management against them.

Undesirable and desirable effects of stressors on the body are assigned to distress and eustress, respectively. Immune system and brain are the most susceptible parts to stressful conditions, whereas longlasting alterations in putative immune proteins involved in tension such as corticosterone (CORT), interleukin 6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a) can impact learning and memory. Intermittent fasting (IF) is a repeated regular cycle of dietary restriction with well-known beneficial properties on the body.

DRE (dehydration responsive element)/CRT (C-repeat) is a cis-acting element that involves in gene expression responsive to abiotic stress in higher plants. To date, all well known DREBP transcription factors in Arabidopsis, rice, maize and other plants regulate gene expression in response to drought, high-salt and cold stresses by binding specifically to DRE/CRT.

To elucidate the molecular mechanism underlying the heat shock response in cold-water fish species, genes enco-ding heat shock transcription factors (HSFs) were cloned fromRTG-2cellsof the rainbowtroutOncorhynchusmykiss. Consequently, two distinctHSF1genes, namedHSF1aand HSF1b, were identified. The predicted amino acid sequence ofHSF1ashows 86.4% identity to that ofHSF1b.Thetwo proteins contained the general structuralmotifs ofHSF1, i.e. a DNA-binding domain, hydrophobic heptad repeats and nuclear localization signals. ...

A multiprotein complex encompassing a transcription regulator, cardiac ankyrin repeat protein (CARP), and the calpain 3 protease was identified in the N2A elastic region of the giant sarcomeric protein titin. The present study aimed to investigate the function(s) of this complex in the skeletal muscle. We demonstrate that CARP subcellular localization is controlled by the activity of calpain 3: the higher the calpain 3, the more important the sarcomeric retention of CARP.

Positivity rates appear low in these populations, around 4 to 7 percent, except for a 32 percent positivity rate for VILI in Angola. Investigators noted that many test providers were not able to distinguish the color changes seen in VILI-positive cases from irrelevant conditions such as ectropion or inflammation, in spite of repeated training. This may be a limitation of VILI in these settings. Another challenge identified in the studies was providing appropriate treatment.

Bacterial biofilms are regarded to be the primary aetiological factor in the initiation of gingival inflammation and subsequent destruction of periodontal tissues (Offenbacher 1996) and three major specific pathogens have been repeatedly identified as etiologic agents, namely Aggregatibacter (Actinobacillus) actinomycetemcomitans (Aa), Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg) and Tannerella forsythia (Tf) (Socransky et al. 1998).
