In the present study, a complex between 8-hydroxyquinoline and cerium (III) (CeHQ) was synthesized in the presence of triethylamine. Afterwards, the complex was characterized by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Thermo-Gravimetric Analysis (TGA). The inhibition efficiency of the Ce-HQ complex for the corrosion of carbon steel, evaluated by both Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and Potentiodynamic Polarization (PP) plots, reached 90 % after 2 h of immersion in a 0.01 M NaCl solution.

The electric and magnetic properties of a lithium ferrite (LF) synthesized using the solid state reaction technique have been reported. The XRD studies reveal the cubic nature, from which the crystallite size and the lattice constant are determined to be 16.84 nm and 2.847 Å repectively. The FESEM confirms the coarseness in the samples with a low porosity.

In the present work, a modified b-nickel hydroxide (b-Ni(OH)2) electrode material with CuO has been prepared using a co-precipitation method. The structure and property of the modified b-Ni(OH)2 with CuO were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform infra-red (FT-IR), Raman and thermal gravimetric-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) techniques.

Sm0.2Ce0.8O1.9 (SDC20) electrolytes were synthesized with cellulose templating (CT) and PVA templating (PVAT) methods. Powder characteristics were examined using TG/DTA, XRD, and SEM. Pellets are sintered at various temperatures for different durations. Mean grain sizes were calculated from SEM micrographs using the linear intercept method. Grain growth behavior of the electrolytes was investigated and the dominant diffusion mechanism was examined.

This work presented the corrosion protection performance of anticorrosion multi-metal hybrid (AC-2MH) complex additive for solder materials in corrosive media. The AC-2MH complex contained traditional additives and organic acids. The Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results demonstrated the formation of active and passive protective layers on the surface of the alloys, which prevented the solder materials from corrosion.

A simple approach to constructing a double-layer voltammetric sensor is described. The poly(malachite green) (PMG) and multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were coimmobilized at the surface of the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for fabrication of PMG/MWCNT/GCE. The modified electrode was characterized by cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), and chronoamperometric techniques.
