  • Data from discovery proteomic and phosphoproteomic experiments typically include missing values that correspond to proteins that have not been identified in the analyzed sample. Replacing the missing values with random numbers, a process known as “imputation”, avoids apparent infinite fold-change values.

  • This paper studies the active damping of the oscillations of lightly damped linear systems whose parameters are indeterminate or may change through time. Systems with an arbitrary number of vibration modes are considered. Systems described by partial differential equations, that yield an infinite number of vibration modes, can also be included. In the case of collocated feedback, i.e. the sensor is placed at the same location of the actuator, a simple fractional order differentiation or integration of the measured signal is proposed that provides an effective control.

  • Creation of optimal tax and budget systems is one of the Difficult problems of economic science. One of the most important areas of tax reform is to develop a tax code in the aspect of optimal tax gravity. The new tax code - a step to improvement, since a number of reduced taxes and simplified tax system at the same time. In order to once and for all ended the confrontation between the Government of the Infinite and Taxpayer, resolved the problem of budget revenues, was a powerful national economy, it is necessary to develop a tax code so that its weight was exactly 38.

  • Although Egypt has already reached the water poverty limit, it possesses a high potential of brackish groundwater available from different aquifers. All Arab countries lie in the best sun-belt region in the world and Egypt has the highest number of sun hours all year round. Solar energy for groundwater desalination is an independent infinite energy resource; it has low running costs and reduces the contribution of greenhouse gases (GHG) to global warming.

  • This paper studies the spreading speed for a lattice differential equation with infinite distributed delay and we find that the spreading speed coincides with the minimal wave speed of traveling waves. Here the model has been proposed to describe a single species living in a 1D patch environment with infinite number of patches connected locally by diffusion.

  • We propose an entropy based classification of propositional calculi. Our method can be applied to finite–valued propositional logics and then, extended asymptotically to infinite–valued logics. In this paper we consider a classification depending on the number of truth values of a logic and not on the number of its designated values. Furthermore, we believe that almost the same approach can be useful in classification of finite algebras.

  • The paper’s purpose is to light up the role of tax in managing offshore fishing activities. It was conducted by considering two management regimes; (1) assumes that the number of fishing firms is finite and defined as a restricted access regime, and (2) the number of fishing firms is infinite, which is regarded as an open access regime, to enter into a coastal nation’s fisheries.

  • What-if models of pavement management analysis such as RTIM, HERS and HDM-4 predict the consequences of different maintenance options to be tested that are specified exogenously. Therefore, although they are often used to “optimize” maintenance options, they are not optimizing them in its true sense; they are merely used to find the best options among those tested. Since there are usually infinite numbers of options, it is impossible to exhaust all of them and only suboptimal optimizers are found.
