In this study poly (4-nitrophenylazo-3-aminopyridine - formaldehyde) (PNAAP-F) and poly (4-nitroarylazo-3-chloro-6- hydroxypyridine - formaldehyde) (NAACHP-F) were synthesized via diazotization, coupling and polycondensation reactions. The structural properties of the as-synthesized dyes were acquired using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and UV-visible absorption maxima and their color, yield, melting point, solubility, and viscosity were determined via standard methods.

Nanometric composite TiO2, TiO2-SiO2 (TS10) and AgTiO2-SiO2 (A4TS10) powder photo-catalysts have been synthesized via sol-gel assisted with hydrothermal treatment method and employed for aqueous phenol decomposition under sunlight irradiation. Copper catalysts were simply fabricated through surface modification of superparamagnetic iron nanoparticles with indoline-2,3-dione(isatin)-Schiff-base and interaction with Cu from low-cost commercially available starting materials. Catalysts were characterized using atomic absorption spectrophotometry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, vibrating sample magnetometry, UV/Vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy.

The samples annealed at 150 C and 250 C showed a better optical absorption in the visible and the near infrared spectral regions with dominant characteristic peaks at 691.2 nm and 801.6 nm. Further studies assured that the EPC process yielded good quality and large area MoSe2 films with exotic structural, optical and nanomorphological characteristics that are highly suitable for functional devices.

An accurate, precise, and simple spectrophotometric method is proposed for the determination of the antithyroid drug carbimazole using ruthenium(III) chloride. This method is based on the formation at room temperature of a stable yellow-colored complex with λmax 370 nm. The method has a Beer’s law range of 7.81 to 1.95 × 10 2 µg mL−1, molar absorptivity coefficient ε = 1.519 × 103 L mol−1 cm−1, and correlation coefficient of 0.997. The metal:ligand (M:L) ratio of the complex was confirmed by the mole ratio and Job’s method of continuous variation, suggesting a 1:2 stoichiometry.

Syntheses and detailed spectroscopic characterizations of two similar conjugated microporous polymers formed by A4 + B2 and A2 + B3 type functional monomers via Sonogashira–Hagihara polycondensation are presented in this report. The two porous polymeric networks possess mono-, di-, and tri- (1-, 1,4-, and 1,3,5-, respectively) substituted benzene rings and fused thiophenic moieties (dithienothiophenes). Because of the different conjugation patterns, their solid state nuclear magnetic resonance, infrared, and ultraviolet/visible light absorption analyses indicated significant differences.

The 4-(2-[3,4-dimethoxyphenoxy] phenoxy) phthalonitrile was synthesized as the starting material of new syntheses. Zinc, copper, and cobalt phthalocyanines were achieved by reaction of starting compound with Zn(CH3 COO)2 , CuCl2 , and CoCl2 metal salts. Basic spectroscopic methods such as nuclear magnetic resonance electronic absorption, mass and infrared spectrometry were used in the structural characterization of the compounds. Absorption, excitation, and emission measurements of the fluorescence zinc phthalocyanine compound were also investigated in THF.

Green nanomaterials have gained much attention due to their potential use as therapeutic agents. The present study investigated the production of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) from a silver-resistant Bacillus safensis TEN12 strain, which was isolated from metal contaminated soil and taxonomically identified through 16S rRNA gene sequencing. The formation of AgNPs in bacterial culture was confirmed by using UV–vis spectroscopy with an absorption peak at 426.18 nm.

Chemotherapy via oral route of anticancer drugs offers much convenience and compliance to patients. However, oral chemotherapy has been challenged by limited absorption due to poor drug solubility and intestinal efflux. In this study, we aimed to develop a nanosuspension formulation of oridonin (Odn) using its cyclodextrin inclusion complexes to enhance oral bioavailability. Nanosuspensions containing Odn/2 hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complexes (Odn-CICs) were prepared by a solvent evaporation followed by wet media milling technique.

In the present study extracellular polysaccharide (EPS) was characterized from Pseudomonas aeruginosa B01. EPS was purified using ethanol precipitation and dialysis. The purified EPS from P. aeruginosa B01 was analyzed using a High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The infrared spectra of EPS from P. aeruginosa B01 clearly showed the presence of carboxylate groups. The FT-IR spectrum indicated an intense absorption band in the region of 3296 cm-1 on the stretching vibration of hydroxyl groups (OH).

In this study, fly ash was treated with NaOH solution (FA-NaOH) before modifying with (3-mercaptopropyl) triethoxysilane - MPS (FA-MPS). By using Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and Brunauer – Emmett – Teller (BET) nitrogen adsorption methods and techniques, the change in structure, composition and morphology of FA-NaOH and FAMPS was evaluated. The FTIR spectra of FA-NaOH and FA-MPS showed that there is no chemical reaction between the MPS and FA-NaOH.

The present work aims to study the in vitro properties of nano-hydroxyapatite/chitosan–gelatin composite materials. In vitro behavior was performed in simulated body fluid (SBF) to verify the formation of apatite layer onto the composite surfaces. The in vitro data proved the deposition of calcium and phosphorus ions onto hydroxyapatite /polymeric composite surfaces especially those containing high concentrations of polymer content.
