We aimed to screen novel gene signatures for ovarian cancer (OC) and explore the role of biomarkers in OC via regulating pyroptosis using bioinformatics analysis. The proliferation, migration, and invasion were determined using cell counting kit and transwell assay. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was applied to measure infammatory factors. The mRNA and protein expression were detected using real-time quantitative PCR and western blot.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is the most lethal subtype of breast cancer (BC). The circRNAmiRNA‒mRNA axis is a promising biomarker for the early diagnosis and prognosis of BC. However, the critical circRNA mediators involved in TNBC progression and the underlying regulatory mechanism involved remain largely unclear.

In response to a wound, fibroblasts are activated to migrate toward the wound, to proliferate and to contribute to the wound healing process. We hypothesize that changes in pre-mRNA processing occurring as fibroblasts enter the proliferative cell cycle are also important for promoting their migration.

N6 -methyladenosine (m6A) and adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) RNA editing are two of the most abundant RNA modification events affecting adenosines in mammals. Both these RNA modifications determine mRNA fate and play a pivotal role in tumor development and progression.

The search of alternative anti-Helicobacter pylori agents obtained mainly of medicinal plants is a scientific area of great interest. The antimicrobial effects of Litrahea molleoides and Aristolochia argentina extracts against sensible and resistant H. pylori strains, were evaluated in vitro. Also, the urease inhibition activity and the effect on the ureA gene expression mRNA was evaluated.

The application of antisense molecules, such as morpholino oligonucleotides, is an efficient method of gene inactivation in vivo. We recently introduced phosphonic ester modified peptide nucleic acids (PNA) for in vivo loss-of-function experiments in medaka embryos.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the expression levels of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) and its target gene CYP1B1 and to correlate their expression with Wnt5a/b-b-catenin, the CD44+ /CD24(/low) cancer stem cell (CSC) subset and factors associated with poor prognosis in inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) and non-IBC patients. The methods of analysis used were quantitative real-time PCR, western blotting, immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry. Compared to non-IBC tissues, IBC tissues exhibited the overexpression of AHR and its target gene/protein CYP1B1.

Cold shock proteins (CSPs) form a family of highly conserved bacterial proteins capable of single-stranded nucleic acid binding. They are suggested to act as RNA chaperones during cold shock inhibiting the formation of RNA secondary structures, which are unfavourable for transcription and translation.

Glutamine is an essential amino acid in cancer cells and is required for the growth of many other cell types. Glutami-nase activity is positively correlated with malignancy in tumours andwith growth rate in normal cells. In the present work, Ehrlich ascites tumour cells, and their derivative, 0.28AS-2 cells, expressing antisense glutaminase mRNA, were assayed for apoptosis induced by methotrexate and hydrogen peroxide. It is shown that Ehrlich ascites tumour cells, expressing antisense mRNA for glutaminase, contain lower levels of glutathione than normal ascites cells. In addition, 0.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that regulate gene expression by inhibiting translation and⁄or inducing degradation of target mRNAs, and they play important roles in a wide variety of biological func-tions including cell differentiation, tumorigenesis, apoptosis and metabo-lism.

Pladienolide is a naturally occurring macrolide that binds to the SF3b com-plex to inhibit mRNA splicing. It has not been fully validated whether the splicing impairment is a relevant mechanism for the potent antitumor activ-ity of pladienolide.
