Matching 3D objects by their similarity is a fundamental problem in computer vision, computer graphics and many other fields. The main challenge in object matching is to find a suitable shape representation that can be used to accurately and quickly discriminate between similar and dissimilar shapes. In this paper we present a new volumetric descriptor to represent 3D objects. The proposed descriptor is used to match objects under rigid transformations including uniform scaling.

In this paper, we introduce the concepts of Linear neurons, and new learning algorithms based on Linear neurons, with an explanation of the reasons behind these algorithms. First, we briefly review the Boltzmann Machine and the fact that the invariant distributions of the Boltzmann Machine generate Markov chains. Slobodeanu, we study two similar subjects in the paracontact (metric) geometry: Distributions that are invariant with respect to the structure endomorphism φ, the class of vector fields of holomorphic type. As examples we consider both the 3-dimensional case and the general dimensional case through a Heisenberg-type structure inspired also by contact geometry.

A major focus of current work in distributional models of semantics is to construct phrase representations compositionally from word representations. However, the syntactic contexts which are modelled are usually severely limited, a fact which is reflected in the lexical-level WSD-like evaluation methods used. In this paper, we broaden the scope of these models to build sentence-level representations, and argue that phrase representations are best evaluated in terms of the inference decisions that they support, invariant to the particular syntactic constructions used to guide composition.
