Investigation at unit level

The designed catalyst has shown an enzyme-like kinetics profile with a significant substrate affinity. The cooperative action in between catalytic triad amino acids has shown improved catalytic activity in comparison to only the histidine-containing control group. Histidine is an irreplaceable contributor to catalytic action and this is an additional reason for control group selection. This new method based on the self-assembly of covalently conjugated action units offers a new platform for enzyme investigations and their further applications.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between real non-oil GDP growth of Azerbaijan and exchange rate and oil prices. Zivot-Andrews unit root test is applied to deal with structural breaks in data and the Gregory-Hansen (GH) test for robustness. While conventional unit-root tests decision that the series are not stationary at their level, the Ziwot-Andrews test decision that the series is stationary with structural break.

The aims of this paper are to investigate the barriers and the sources of resistance to change in hotel firms and to evaluate the change in strategies adopted in seeking to overcome these barriers. Primary data were gathered through in-depth semi-structured interviews in nine hotels in the UK. The findings indicate that the cost of change, financial difficulties and the pressure of other priorities are the main barriers to change in hotel firms. The findings also indicate that hotel companies use multiple change strategies in overcoming barriers to change.

A field experiment was conducted during rabi 2016-17 at Research farm of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana involving two barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) varieties: V1 (DWRUB 52, Two-rowed) and V2 (PL 807, Six-rowed) sown on three sowing dates viz. D1 (25th October), D2 (10th November), D3 (25th November) and three irrigation levels viz. I1 (Recommended 4 post sowing irrigation), I2 (Skip at vegetative stage), I3 (Skip at anthesis stage) replicated thrice in factorial split plot design to investigate heat summation indices in relation to crop phenology under changed microclimate.

A field experiment was conducted during rabi, 2015-16 at Hi-Tech Horticulture Unit, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad to investigate the “Studies on integrated nutrient management in red cabbage grown under shade house condition”. The treatments consists of three levels of recommended dose of fertilizer that is 100 % (100:150:125 kg NPK/ha) and 75 % (75:112:75 kg NPK/ha) and 50 % RDF (50:75:62.5 kg NPK/ha), three levels of recommended dose of nitrogen (100 %, 50 % and 50 % RDN) provided through FYM and vermicompost and bio-fertilizers (Azotobactor and PSB).

The study was conducted to investigate some physical properties of soybean at various moisture levels. The dependence of physical properties of soybean on moisture content was determined. In the moisture range from 9.98- 27.10% (wb).The soaked soybean size increased linearly in length (6.34 - 8.95 mm), width (5.42 -6.50 mm), and thickness (4.23 - 5.35 mm) according to final moisture content. Recycling and reuse of solid wastes as alternative building materials present interesting possibilities for economy on waste disposal sites and conservation of natural resources. This paper investigates the physical and mechanical properties of solid cement bricks manufactured with crushed clay bricks as recycled aggregates. Four series of mixtures with cement content 100, 150, 200 and 300 kg/m3 were prepared. In each series, either natural fine aggregate, coarse aggregate or both were replaced with crushed brick aggregates (CBA) at 0%, 50% and 100% by volume.

Pyrethroid insecticide resistance in house flies is well documented in the United States. However, the extent to which it occurs in North Carolina poultry production has not been quantified. Pyrethroid resistance among other structural/environmental pests is not believed to be substantial at present, but recent investigations in other poultry producing states indicate the lesser mealworm, Alphitobius diaperinus, has significant levels of resistance to cyfluthrin and tetrachlorvinphos.
