The age-stage, two-sex life table method was used for data analysis. The results indicated that EPF treatments affected the population growth rate of the aphids by causing prolongation of the development time, decrease in survival rate, shortening of adult longevity, and decrease in reproduction. The intrinsic rate of increase (r) and the finite rate of increase (λ) reflecting combined effects of all life history parameters were the highest in the control group and the lowest in M.

This study has been conducted to determine some biological parameters of the Phenacoccus madeirensis Green (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae) on four vegetable plants (7 different varieties); tomato (Hazera and Torry) (Solanum lycopersicum L.), eggplant (Adana Topağı and Anamur) (Solanum melongena L.), pepper (Safran and Zafer) (Capsicum annuum L.), and Pepino (Minski) (Solanum muricatum L.). Experiments were carried out in climate cabinets at 25 ± 2 °C, 60 ± 10% R.H.

The results showed that pre-oviposition, oviposition and post-oviposition periods of A. arizonensis were calculated as 1.5, 26, and 3.1 days, respectively. In addition, total mean longevity was determined as 31 days for female and 18 days for male individuals. Moreover, total mean fecundity and daily mean fecundity were also found as 83 mealybugs/female, and 4.1 mealybugs/female/day, respectively. The intrinsic rate of increase (r), net reproduction rate (R0), finite rate of increase (λ), gross reproductive rate (GRR), and mean generation time (T) were found 0.135, 41.25, 1.144, 60.

This review was aimed to find out real life application of noble gas xenon. The noble gas xenon (Xe) occupy the zero group of the periodic table. It is fifth member of noble gas family. It is a colorless, dense, odorless noble gas found in the Earth's atmosphere in trace amounts. Xenon has so many application in real life, viz., in arc lamps in xenon HID (high-intensity discharge) lamp and in high pressure arc lamps to produce ultraviolet light. It is used in instruments for radiation detection, e.g., neutron and X-ray counters and bubble chambers.

The present investigation was made to study the field life-tables and key mortality factors of Plutella xylostella infesting sole and onion intercropped cabbage. P. xylostella passed through 3 and 2 generations on sole and onion intercropped cabbage, respectively during rainy season 2011.On sole cabbage the highest mortality of early and late instar larvae of P. xylostella in first, second and third generations during rainy season 2011 was observed to be 33.90, 37.62 and 32.73 per cent due to Cotesia vestalis followed by unknown causes (10.10, 13.52 and 0.00 per cent).

The life table of Leucinodes orbonalis was prepared from daily fecundity and survival of cohort, when larvae were reared on brinjal c.v. Shyamala at a temperature 26± 10 C. Results on the survival of different stages of L.. orbonalis indicated 10% mortality in the egg stage and with 20% and 28% mortality in the larval and pupal stages, respectively. The longest duration of egg incubation was 5 days, while the larval and pupal periods were 18 days and 11 days, respectively.

Survival and fertility characteristics of the third instar larvae of Spodoptera litura (Fabricius), on Bt-I and Bt-II cotton hybrids during 120-150 DAS were assessed in the laboratory. Life tables and population parameters of the S.litura were constructed in an environment with unlimited food supply and that was free of natural enemies. The results revealed that the modest rate of mortality occurred in the immature stage, especially in the third instar. The population parameters calculated are recorded as low in Bt-II hybrids compared to Bt-I hybrids.

The study was carried out to construct the life table and to study the age dependent reproduction of the predatory bug Orius bifilarus feeding on fictitious host, eggs of rice meal moth, Corcyra cephalonica (Stainton) (Lepidoptera: Galleriidae) and on its natural host, Thripspalmi Karny (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) (collected from cucumber) under controlled conditions (25 ± 1°C, 65 ± 5% RH). Themean durations of the pre, post and oviposition periods were 4.3, 1.4 and 14.2 days on C. cephalonica eggs and 4.1, 2.1 and 16.4 days on thrips, the difference being non-significant.

Pasteuria penetrans is an important parasite of Meloidogyne incognita. Lifecycle of this parasite is in close association with the nematode. Life table was constructed for healthy and P. penetrans infected population of M. incognita. Results revealed that the life cycle of P. penetrans infected M. incognita was extend by 3 days when compared to healthy population. Survival and life expectancy of the infected population was reduced by 2 days. Stable age distribution revealed that reduction in survival of infected population in all stages.
