New globalizing forces make our world increasingly interconnected. Similar issues affect us all: discover the tension between the needs of the individual and society, the changing workplace, and the role of everything from government to mass culture in our lives. To explain each concept, The Sociology Book makes each topic crystal clear using quirky graphics, pithy quotes, and step-by-step summaries. It defines terms such as "liquid modernity" and "communitarianism", and explains the theories of seminal thinkers from Karl Marx and Auguste Comte to Sharon Zukin and Judith Butler.

The study aims to evaluate the efficiency of SLFs on the biomass production, biochemical and physiological processes; and the study was carried out at different SLF concentrations of selected seaweeds i.e. Kappaphycus alvarezii, Gelidiella acerosa and Turbinaria ornata. The comparative analysis of the growth performance of two unicellular green alga on three different organic media suggest that the liquid fertilizer from red seaweed was highly efficient than the SLF prepared from brown seaweed.

In cultural heritage the characterization of organic colorants is a challenging task. Currently, different chromatographic techniques are used to analyze natural and synthetic dyes separately, since the classes differ significantly in chemical properties and, therefore, chromatographic behavior.

In this study, a xylanase was isolated and purified from the crude culture filtrate of Aspergillus oryzae VTCC F187 after 7 days of growth on the optimal culture containing 7% corncob and 5% soybean powder under liquid-state fermentation. After two steps purification process including gel filtration chromatography (Sephadex G-75) incorporating with anion-exchange chromatography (DEAE-sephadex), obtained xylanase was purified with the yield and purity of 24.9% and 3.91 fold, respectively.

Liquid cultures have been commonly used in space, toxicology, and pharmacology studies of Caenorhabditis elegans. However, the knowledge about transcriptomic alterations caused by liquid cultivation remains limited. Moreover, the impact of different genotypes in rapid adaptive responses to environmental changes (e.g., liquid cultivation) is often overlooked. Here, we report the transcriptomic and phenotypic responses of laboratory N2 and the wild-isolate AB1 strains after culturing P0 worms on agar plates, F1 in liquid cultures, and F2 back on agar plates.

In a recent study, we described two new lavandulylated flavonoids, along with eight known compounds from the culture broth of a Streptomyces sp. (strain G246), isolated from the sponge Halichondria panicea, collected in the sea of Son Tra peninsula (Da Nang). A comparison study was conducted to differentiate between solid and liquid fermentation technique for secondary metabolites production of strain G246. In this paper, we report the isolation and structural characterization of nine secondary metabolites (1-9) from strain G246 by solid state fermentation.

The use of plant tissue culture as a routine method of potato seed production would be costly but these techniques can be used to eliminate the pathogens, produce required initial material and then, use another efficient and cheaper system to rapidly produce high quality seed tubers for commercial production. Considering this, the liquid formulation of antimycotic 100x, and amphotericin-B 250 µg/ml of PAA make was used.

This paper focuses on researching of Spilanthes acmella (L.) Murr. callus culture. Different parts of the plant such as leaf, stem, flower and root have been cultured. Based on antimicrobial activity (5 - 20 mm on Staphylococcus and Vibrio) and radish root tip inhibition (82%), the callus derived from flowers is the best.

Maize Post flowering stalk rot causing caused by Fusarium verticillioides is major disease and causing yield loss up to 34 per cent. Different liquid media supporting the growth of the different isolates of fungus was observed. Among the eight-liquid media tested for the dry mycelial weight and sporulation of six isolates of Fusarium stalk rot pathogen (F. verticillioides), Isolate FV-3 yielded highest dry mycelial weight of 787.66mg, followed by FV-2 (647.66mg), FV1(581.00mg), FV-5 (451.00mg), FV-6(421.00mg) and FV7(277.66mg) in Takahashii’s broth.

Secondary metabolites approach to study the bio-efficacy of Trichoderma Asperellum isolates in India
10 isolates of Trichoderma asperellum was used for characterization of secondary metabolites through gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis to establish valid correlation between the production of antifungal metabolites and their bio-efficacy as BCAs. The investigation revealed that the culture filtrate of T. asperellum isolates were showed the presence of 673 secondary metabolites at different retention time with a range of 39 (Ta20) to 101 (Ta-12) with GC-MS.

Plant tissue culture is the method of culturing the plant cells or tissues under controlled aseptic conditions on a solid or liquid medium. It has value in basic research for the production of true to type, disease free and micro-propagated plants. Besides this also has commercial application. This review work outlines the work done on pertaining to various aspects of in vitro micro-propagation, regeneration, rooting, hardening, in potato.

Morphological and cultural variability of S. rolfsii infecting tomato were studied on different solid and liquid media based on radial growth, topography, sclerotial number, diameter of sclerotia, test weight of sclerotial bodies and dry mycelial weight. Significant variability with reference to mycelial and sclerotial characters was observed on different media. This investigation revealed that the maximum mycelial growth was observed in Potato Dextrose Agar (9 cm) and more test weight (262 mg) of sclerotial bodies was recorded in Sabouraud’s dextrose agar.
