The nationwide imposition of lockdown due to Covid-19 adversely affected various agriculture allied occupations especially livestock and poultry sector. For dairy farmers reduced price of milk, lack of transportation means and lack of veterinary aids were major problems faced during the lockdown. Poultry farmers incurred massive losses due to rumours associated with chicken which caused collapse in demand for poultry products. Top ranked problems faced by poultry farmers include reduced availability of improved breeds, price and sale of egg or meat.

The data were collected by using well structured interview schedule from 300 dairy farmers of CPZ and WPZ. Azolla is a free floating, rapidly growing aquatic fern on water surface. Subabul is an important protein rich tree fodder which its lopping is extensively used as cattle fodder. It is drought resistant tree, generally grown as border or bund crop in farmers and its lopping is cut for green fodder for animals. For this purpose tree fodder cultivating seems to be a promising strategy for livestock farmers. A field experiment was conducted to find out the relative performance of tree fodder growth at various stages of cutting and suitable lopping interval of subabul (Leucaena leucocephala) during 2019-2020.

Urbanization reduces the land area for fodder production and also the failure in monsoon urges the farmers to go for fodder production under agroforestry models. Consumption of milk and milk products is expected to differ for different occupational groups due to differences in the habits and social customs. Average monthly per capita expenditure (MPCE) of Uttar Pradesh is about rupees 899 and rupees 1574 out of which per capita expenditure on food in rural and urban areas of Uttar Pradesh is about rupees 521 and rupees 728, respectively; and percentage share of food in consumer expenditure is about 57.9 percent and 46.3 percent, respectively NSSO, GOI, 2009-10.
