The nonlinear buckling behaviors of the functionally graded graphene platelet reinforced composite (FG-GPLRC) doubly curved shallow shells under external pressure in the thermal environment are introduced and investigated in this paper. The Donnell shell theory and the strain-displacement relationship of von Karman are used. At the bottom surface of FG-GPLRC doubly curve shallow shells, the FG-GPLRC stiffener system in the transverse, longitudinal, or/and oblique directions is installed to increase the bearing capacity of the shallow shells.

A semi-analytical approach of nonlinear vibration of functionally graded carbon nanotubes reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) doubly curved shallow shells stiffened by longitudinal or transversal FG-CNTRC stiffeners by using the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) with the geometrical nonlinearities in von Kármán sense is reported in this paper. The novel smeared stiffener technique is improved for FG-CNTRC stiffeners according to the FSDT.

This longitudinal study focuses on evaluating grade 7-9 school students’ perceptions of intervention modules intended to be relevant, as well as promoting learning attributes to raise awareness of science-related careers. Students are taught through six purposely developed and designed career-related teaching–learning modules (C-TLMs).

Ebook "Atlas of the Huai river basin water environment: Digestive cancer mortality" present a spatial and longitudinal analysis of regular pollution monitoring and disease surveillance data. A review of variation in trends in the causes of death in the Huai River Basin over the past 30 years shows that precisely those areas which were the most seriously polluted for the longest time were the areas with the highest increase in digestive cancer deaths – several times that of the national average increase for the respective cancers.

Vibration analysis of multi-span bidirectional functionally graded material (2D-FGM) beams subjected to a moving load is presented by using a high-order deformation theory. The material properties of the beam are assumed to vary continuously in the thickness and longitudinal directions by a power-law distribution. The dynamic response of the beam is computed with the aid of the Newmark method.

In this paper, a two-dimensional functionally graded sandwich (2D-FGSW) beam model formed from three constituent materials is proposed and its free vibration analysis is carried out for the first time. The beam consists of three layers, a homogeneous core and two skin layers of 2D-FGM. The material properties of the skin layers are considered to vary in both the thickness and longitudinal directions by power gradation laws.

MRI scanning has revolutionized the clinical diagnosis of lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS). However, there is currently no consensus as to how best to classify MRI findings which has hampered the development of robust longitudinal epidemiological studies of the condition.

In this paper, free vibration of bidirectional functionally graded sandwich (BFGSW) beams is studied by using a finite element formulation. The beams made from three distinct materials are composed of three layers, a homogeneous core and two bidirectional FGM face layers with material properties varying in both the thickness and longitudinal directions by power gradation laws. Based on the first-order shear deformation theory, a finite element formulation is derived and employed to compute the vibration characteristics of the beams with various boundary conditions.

In this paper, the nonlinear buckling and post-buckling of an eccentrically stiffened cylindrical shell made of functionally graded materials, surrounded by an elastic medium and subjected to mechanical compressive loads and external pressures are investigated by an analytical approach. The cylindrical shells are reinforced by longitudinal and circumferential stiffeners
