In this study, we describe case report of 70-year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of abdominal pain over 6 months with no pathological antecedent. Abdominal ultrasound (US) reveal a omental solid mass in left lumbar region, and on CT scan show a solid mass in left lumbar region in front of the descending colon, maesuring around 50x87x133mm with well-circumscribed, slight enhance with intravenous contrast, no hemmorrage or necrosis area, no calcification and not clearly separated from small-bowel.

We developed a new in-plane technique, called the beach chair method, which displays images from the transverse process. We compared the operative difficulty and incidence of epidural spread of the beach chair method with those of the control method (at the plane of the articular process) in this randomized controlled clinical trial.

The variance in clinical responses to polyetheretherketone (PEEK) cages with titanium (Ti) and hydroxyapatite (HA) coatings (PEEK-Ti-HA cages) is still not clear. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the radiographic and clinical outcomes of patients undergoing TLIF using PEEK-Ti-HA cages with a particular focus on fusion rate.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is commonly used to assess the health of the lumbar spine and supporting structures. Studies have suggested that fatty infiltration of the posterior lumbar muscles is important in predicting responses to treatment for low back pain.

There is increasing interest in paravertebral muscle composition as a potential prognostic and diagnostic element in lumbar spine health. As a consequence, it is becoming popular to use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to examine muscle volume and fatty infiltration in lumbar paravertebral muscles to assess both agerelated change and their clinical relevance in low back pain (LBP).

Spinal deformities affect the overall alignment of the spine and thus the vectors of loading on the lumbar region and intervertebral discs. Due to wedging of the disc or vertebrae of unbalanced spinal segments, alignment change may affect the range of motion (ROM) of individual spinal segments or the global spine.

Wireless, wearable, inertial motion sensor technology introduces new possibilities for monitoring spinal motion and pain in people during their daily activities of work, rest and play. There are many types of these wireless devices currently available but the precision in measurement and the magnitude of measurement error from such devices is often unknown.

Degenerative joint disease (DJD) in the lumbar spine is a common condition that is associated with chronic low back pain. Excessive loading of lumbar joints is a risk factor for DJD. Changes in lumbar lordosis significantly redistribute the forces of weight-bearing on the facet joints and the intervertebral discs.

Percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomy (PTED) is widely used for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation. Facetectomy in PTED is necessary for accessing the intraspinal region and for decompressing the exiting nerve roots in patients who suffer from hypertrophy of the facet joints.

Due to its unique arrangement, the deep and superficial fibers of the multifidus may have differential roles for maintaining spine stabilization and lumbar posture; the superficial multifidus is responsible for lumbar extension and the deep multifidus for intersegmental stability.

Whether lumbar punctures (LPs) should be performed routinely for term newborns suspected of having early onset neonatal sepsis (EONS) is subject to debate. It is unclear whether variations in performance of LPs for EONS may be associated with patient, hospital, insurance or regional factors.

Machiavelli once stated, "and one ought to consider that there is nothing more difficult to pull off, more chancy to succeed in, or more dangerous to manage, than the introduction of a new order of things." It was similar experience that the founding fathers of arthrosocopy faced when they started this unique way of treating the musculoskeletal conditions.
