Formamidinium bromide (FABr) was synthesized by slowly mixing formamidinium acetate powder with hydrobromic acid for synthesizing FAPbBr3. Photoluminescence (PL) of FAPbBr, has been studied, showing a PL peak at 562 nm. Spin-coating method was used to prepare FAPbBr3 thin films and FTO/FAPbBr/FTO sandwich structures. These structures exhibited green luminescence with a center wavelength at 545 nm. The emission centers were observed for single crystals of FAPbBr3 perovskite.

This study reports athermal fading rates in K-feldspar grains extracted from sediments of varied ages and provenances. Multiple combinations of stimulation and emission spectral regions were examined to identify an optimum combination that provides a luminescence signal with minimal athermal fading.

Previous studies have observed mineral specific variations in the ratios of IRSL signals stimulated at the different discrete wavelengths of lines corresponding to Xe lamp emission lines, which fall within the broad excitation spectrum of IRSL. Meanwhile recent accounts of IRSL have referred to single trapping systems within the excitation band, and modelled excitation spectra as continuous gaussian distributions.

Following up on previous attempts to date diatom frustules, further investigations were made on 1) extracting diatom frustules devoid of inorganic luminescent grains, 2) developing an equivalent dose estimating protocol based on the diatomite luminescence characterization, and 3) testing the applicability of this protocol on two lacustrine profiles.

The structural and optical characterization of the nanophosphor is described. The nanophosphor shows a prominent emission in the red region. The concentration dependence of the Pr3þ luminescence is investigated. The Photoluminescence analysis, CIE and CCT coordinates suggest that phosphors derived from LaOF: Pr3þmight a probable application for white LEDs.

The excitation spectrum exhibited broadband emission between 260 and 550 nm with three peaks dominating at 320 nm due to the transition of 4 A2 4 T1 . The emission spectra between 600 to 720 nm displays an overwhelming emission peak at 654 nm owing to the 2 E4 A2 transition of Mn4+ ion.

In the present work, a green emitting composite with attractive photoluminescent properties was obtained through the embedding of the Tb3+ complex with N-hydroxyphthalimide in a poly-(N-vinyl-pyrrolidone) matrix, which was further processed in thin or thick films. First, several complexes of Gd3+, Tb3+, and Y3+ with N-hydroxyphthalimide with the general formula [M(NHF)3(DMF)2] were prepared at a 1:3 metal/ligand ratio. The Tb3+ complex presents specific emission peaks, with the most intense peak located at 543 nm, thus being selected for incorporation in the poly(N-vinyl-pyrrolidone) matrix.

A fluorescent probe based on silicon quantum dots (SiQDs) was developed for the selective and sensitive detection of oxytetracycline (OTC) via the inner filter effect (IFE). The water-soluble fluorescent SiQD was synthesized based on the reaction of 3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) and sodium citrate as precursors by the one-pot hydrothermal process. The strong fluorescence emission of quantum dots (QDs) was obtained at 440 nm when excited at 350 nm and OTC had a broad absorption band between 200 and 400 nm.

The synthesis, structure, and luminescent properties of a samarium(III) complex (A2) containing benzoyltrifluoroacetone (HTFPB) and 1,2-bis[(anthracen-9-ylmethyl)amino]ethane (BAAE2) ligands are herein reported. The structure of A2 has been elucidated by infrared spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray crystallographic analysis demonstrated that A2 has a mononuclear structure with a formula of Sm(TFPB)3 (BAAE2) in which Sm3+ ion is coordinated to six O-atoms from three TFPB ligands and two N-atoms from one ancillary ligand (BAAE2).

Dy3+ doped lithium-sodium aluminoborate glass (60-x) B2O3-10Al2O3-15Na2O-15Li2O-xDy2O3 (ABLN: Dy3+) are prepared by the conventional melting procedure. Optical absorption and luminescence spectra have been measured at room temperature. Using the Judd - Ofelt (JO) theory, the intensity parameters Ωλ (λ = 2,4,6) have been evaluated for ABLN: Dy3+ glass. These intensity parameters are used to predict radiative properties that include electric (Sed) magnetic (Smd) dipole line strength, radiative transition probabilities (AR), lifetime (τR), branching ratios (βR) for the excited levels of Dy3+.

Platinum(II) complex of benzimidazole-derived N-heterocyclic carbene with formula [PtCl2(DMSO)(bimy)] was successfully synthesized via one pot reaction between 1,3-diisopropyl benzimidazolium (bimyHBr), Ag2O and [PtCl2(DMSO)] (DMSO = dimethyl sulfoxide). The complex was characterized by means of multinuclear (1H and 13C{1H}) magnetic resonance and single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD). The UV-Vis absorption spectra of the compound show an absorption shoulder above 300 nm.

In this work, Ce3+ and Sm3+ ions doped/co-doped Ca2Al2SiO7 (CAS) phosphors were prepared by solid state reaction method at high temperature. X-ray diffraction results showed that the prepared samples had tetragonal single phases with selected synthesis conditions. Energy transfer process of Ce3+/Sm3+ pair in CAS phosphor was studied by photoluminescence (PL) and photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectra. Emission intensity of Ce3+ in Ca2Al2SiO7:xCe3+ , (1mol%) Sm3+ phosphors clearly varied with Ce3+ concentration; and reached to maximum value at the concentration of 2 (mol%).

Report the application of synchronous luminescence spectroscopy to detect luminescence centers in colloidal Cd0.3Zn0.7S nanocrystals and the emission peaks at 460 and 515 nm which are attributed to the emission transitions related to sulfur and zinc/cadmium vacancies. The obtained results are useful to clarify the nature of luminescence centers as well as relaxation mechanism in CdxZn1−xS nanocrystals.

Bioluminescence is defined as the emission of light from a living organism that performs some biological function. Bioluminescence is one of the oldest fields of scientific study almost dating from the first written records of the ancient Greeks. This article describes the investigations of insect luminescence and the crucial role imparted in the activities of insect.
