  • This paper concerns a problem of finite-time stability for a class of linear singular large-scale systems with delays. Based on matrix transformations, Lyapunov function method combined with new estimation techniques, we derive sufficient conditions for solving the finite-time stability of the system. A numerical example is given to illustrate the validity and effectiveness of the theoretical results.

  • This paper focuses on a method of designing PD controller for a balancing robot-cart. The uncertainty of model parameters was introduced as constraints in state space. PD controller was designed through choosing Lyapunov function which was transformed by Kalman-Yakubovich-Popov lemma, a basic theoretical method based on frequency criterion.

  • The paper "Global exponential stability of switched neutral systems with time-varying delays" deals with the problem of global exponential stability for a class of switched neutral systems with time-varying delays. Based on improved Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method combined with the Leibniz-Newton formula, linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) conditions are proposed for the exponential stability of the considered systems under arbitrary switching signal. A numerical example showing the effectiveness of our conditions is given.

  • The paper deals with the robust state bounding estimation problem of stochastic control systems with discrete time Markovian jump. By using Lyapunov functional method and probability theory, we propose new sufficient conditions to guarantee robust state boundedness for the stochastic control systems. The conditions are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities, which is simple and convenient for testing and application.

  • Consider a stochastic evolution equation containing Stratonovich-multiplicative white noise of the form ( , ) du Au f t u u W dt     where the partial differential operator A is positive definite, self-adjoint with a discrete spectrum; and the nonlinear part f satisfies the Lipschitz condition with  belonging to an admissible function space. We prove the existence of a (stochastic) inertial manifold for the solutions to the above equation. Our method relies on the Lyapunov-Perron equation in a combination with the admissibility of function spaces.

  • One of effective approaches to the study of long - time behavior of infinite dimensional dynamical systems is based on the concept of inertial manifolds which was introduced by C. Foias, G. Sell and R. Temam (see [4] and the references therein). These inertial manifolds are finite dimensional Lipschitz ones, attract trajectories at exponential rate. This enables us to reduce the study of infinite dimensional systems to a class of induced finite dimensional ordinary differential equations.

  • In this paper, we investigate the use of a deep learning method, Deep Belief Network (DBN), combined with chaos theory to forecast chaotic time series. DBN should be used to forecast chaotic time series. First, the chaotic time series are analyzed by calculating the largest Lyapunov exponent, reconstructing the time series by phase-space reconstruction and determining the best embedding dimension and the best delay time. When the forecasting model is constructed, the deep belief network is used to feature learning and the neural network is used for prediction.

  • In this paper, the authors propose a novel adaptive multilayer T-S fuzzy controller (AMTFC) with a optimize soft computing algorithm for a class of robust control uncertain nonlinear SISO systems. First, a new multilayer T-S fuzzy was created by combined multiple simple T-S fuzzy model with a sum function in the output. The multi-layer fuzzy model used in nonlinear identification has many advantages over conventional fuzzy models, but it cannot be created by the writer's experience or the trial and error method. It can only be created using an optimization algorithm.

  • Fractional calculus (FC) is widely used in many interdisciplinary branches of science due to its effectiveness in describing and investigating complicated phenomena. In this work, nonlinear dynamics for a new physical model using nonlocal fractional differential operator with singular kernel is introduced. New Routh-Hurwitz stability conditions are derived for the fractional case as the order lies in [0,2). The new and basic Routh-Hurwitz conditions are applied to the commensurate case. The local stability of the incommensurate orders is also discussed.
