Our findings demonstrate the presence of distinct metabolites in the serum of gastric cancer patients compared to healthy individuals. Lysophosphatidic acid, triglycerides, lysine, sphingosine1-phosphate, phosphatidylcholine, oxidized ceramide, and phosphatidylglycerol hold potential as biomarkers for evaluating postoperative efficacy and monitoring recurrence in gastric cancer patients.

Ebook "Lipidomics of stem cells" combines the current knowledge on the role of lipids in stem cell pluripotency and differentiation. It showcases various approaches to the study of lipids and focuses on various types of stem cells and specific lipids driving maintenance or differentiation. The volume includes chapters reviewing roles of specific lipids in pluripotency, neurogenesis and exocytosis as well as in cancer stem cells.

Lysophosphatidic acid receptor 3 (LPAR3) is coupled to Gαi/o and Gα11/q signaling. Previously, we reported that LPAR3 is highly methylated in carcinogen-induced transformed cells. Here, we demonstrate that LPAR3 exhibits malignant transforming activities, despite being downregulated in transformed cells.

Equine endometrosis is a chronic degenerative condition, described as endometrial fibrosis that forms in the stroma, under the basement membrane and around the endometrial glands. The role of lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) in the development of tissue fibrosis varies depending on the organ, and its profibrotic role in mare endometrosis remains unclear.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbations are heterogenous and profoundly impact the disease trajectory. Bioactive lipid lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) has been implicated in airway inflammation but the significance of LPA in COPD exacerbation is not known.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma is an aggressive neoplasm with serious morbidity and mortality, which typically spreads through local invasive growth. Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) is involved in a number of biological processes, and may have a role in cancer cell migration and invasiveness. LPA is present in most tissues and can activate cells through six different LPA receptors (LPAR1-6).

The facts that LPA is present at high concentration in ovarian cancer patients’ ascites and it may serve as a stimulator to cell migration, implicate the role of LPA in the ovarian cancer metastasis. Since LPA mediates various biological functions through its interaction with LPA receptors, we aim to investigate the correlation between the expression of LPA receptors and the metastasis of ovarian cancer.

Migration of cancer cell correlates with distant metastasis and local invasion, which are good targets for cancer treatment. An optically accessible device “TAXIScan” was developed, which provides considerably more information regarding the cellular dynamics and less quantity of samples than do the existing methods.

In this study, conditions for the formation and release of MVs from human (RBCs) have been investigated. By using fluorescence label techniques, fluorescence microscope and flow cytometer. The results showed that phorbol-12-myristat-13-acetate (PMA), lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) and calcium inonophore (A23187) induced the increase of intracellular Ca2+.

Lysophosphatidicacid (LPA), oneof thenaturallyoccurring phospholipids, stimulates cellmotility through theactivation of Rho family members, but the signaling mechanisms remain tobe elucidated. In thepresent study,we investigated the roles of p21-activated kinase 1 (PAK1) onLPA-induced focal adhesion kinase (FAK) phosphorylation and cell motility.

Ghrelin, the endogenous ligand for the growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1a (GHS-R1a), is a 28 amino acid residue with a post-trans-lational octanoyl modification on Ser3. Despite the biomedical interest in this hormone, the fine details of its regulation and the mechanisms control-ling its secretion are largely unknown.
