The nonlinear dynamic buckling responses of functionally graded graphene platelet reinforced composite (FG-GPLRC) cylindrical and sinusoid panels with porous core are presented in this paper. The governing formulations are established by applying the nonlinear higher-order shear deformation theory (HSDT).

The present paper also includes strength prediction models that consider the influence of curing temperature. In addition, the Thermogravimetry analysis (TGA) used to determine the chemically bound water content in cement-treated soil and the X-ray diffraction (XRD) test to explain the chemical mechanism in cement-treated soil are also mentioned.

Buckling and postbuckling behaviors of porous functionally graded graphene platelets-reinforced composite (porous FG-GPLRC) cylindrical shells with stiffeners subjected to external pressures are presented in this paper. Three distribution types of porosity in the shells are considered. The smeared technique for stiffeners is employed to model the mechanical behaviors of the stiffened shells.

This study focuses mainly on the normal stresses that are caused by applied forces. As a case study, the present work aims at investigating the bi-dimensional contact mechanics of wavy cosinusoidal anisotropic finite planes. To achieve this objective, results on the displacement and stress component are first calculated with the help of the Lekhnitskii formalism.

this paper focuses on the adhesion failure between the asphalt wearing course and the steel plate, and the temperature influence on the mechanical behavior of the orthotropic deck. Orthotropic steel bridge decks (OSBDs) have been widely used in long span bridges with many advantages, however, the long-term performance of the asphalt wearing course is still questionable.

Wood, an environmentally friendly construction material, is characterized by a critical attribute that significantly influences its mechanical properties and durability: its moisture absorption behavior. This study expands upon an existing one-dimensional model to develop an innovative two-dimensional numerical framework for simulating moisture propagation within wood.

A truss model supplementing the concrete contribution is introduced in this paper to predict the shear strength of concrete beams reinforced with various types of FRP bars. The contributions from truss and direct strut mechanisms are considered in the analytical model. The truss model which has struts at various angles considering concrete contribution is derived in this paper.

The scope of this work is threefold: (i) to develop a new model within the framework of hydro-mechanical – damage coupling that can account for the coupling between microcrack (damage), water diffusion and shrinkage at stake for concrete secondary creep; (ii) to implement it in an existing hydro-damage lattice model; (iii) to validate the model with respect to the flexural creep of Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC) and Mortars under high sustained load level.

The Siraha district of Nepal experiences surplus mango production during the season that ends up being wasted or sold at throw-away prices due to imperfect marketing. Thus, this survey research was conducted to investigate the market channels of mango, post-harvest mechanisms, constraints, marketing margins, market shares, consumer purchasing behaviors, and patterns of purchasing in Siraha.

Staphylococcus aureus is a major problem in both the clinical setting and within the community. S. aureus can quickly develop resistance to a wide range of antibiotics through a number of different mechanisms, of which, using transporters located in the cell membrane to pump antibiotics out of the cell is the most serious concern.

To achieve the aim, the first objective is preliminary experiments on preparation of polypropylene blends with silicone elastomer masterbatch and characterize by analysis of mass composition, mechanical properties, and dynamic mechanical properties to investigate any improvement of properties. The silicone elastomer masterbatch will then be substituted with propylene-maleic anhydride graft copolymer waxes or other compatibilizers.

This research has raised the question of whether the vibration transmission at a wall junction depends on how the wall is excited (by either a sound wave or a mechanical shaker). The aim of this research is to investigate this question and hence contribute to the revision of the series of standards. Villot and Guigou-Carter (2000) have considered this problem but their equations (10) and (13) appear to be in error. This research will endeavour to derive the correct equations and r epeat Villot and Guigou Carter’s calculations.
