The value of chemotherapy in soft tissue sarcoma (STS) remains controversial. Several expert teams consider that chemotherapy provides a survival advantage and should be proposed in high-risk (HR) patients. However, the lack of accuracy in identifying HR patients with conventional risk factors (large, deep, FNCLCC grade 3, extremity STS) is an issue that cannot be neglected.

Pseudomonas fluorescens is an aerobic, gram-negative, ubiquitous bacterium present in agricultural soils that is well adapted to grow in the rhizospheric as well as phyllospheric zone. An experiment was conducted at Shree Agrasen Kanya P.G. College, Varanasi, U.P. India aimed to determine the morphological features of P. fluorescens as well as to carry out the process and method of its commercial production of powder formulation of the bio-control agent P. fluorescens 1 % W.P for its effective use at field.

An epidemiological study was done to study leptospirosis in domestic animals. Sera samples collected from various farm animals (cattle- 331, goat-88, horses -9, dogs -10) from various parts of the country were examined by Microscopic agglutination test. A panel of 12 reference strains was used in the study. Out of the 438 samples, 27 samples showed agglutination for Leptospira antigens yielding an overall positivity of 6.16%. Study revealed that 6.34% cattle and 5.68% goat sera were positive for leptospiral antibodies.

Canine Monocytic Ehrlichiosis is a worldwide tick borne disease. In dogs, it is usually caused by Ehrlichia canis, gram-negative obligatory intracellular bacteria. Clinical signs, haemato-biochemical alterations and microscopical examination of blood smears were conducted in 60 different breeds of dogs of either sex presented to the Veterinary Clinical Complex, West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences, Kolkata between March and June 2019. The majority of dogs were presented with anorexia, pronounced lethargy, high rise of temperature and generalized lymphadenopathy.

A total of 50 PPFM’s were isolated from rhizosphere soil and phyllosphere of direct seeded rice regions of Hyderabad-Karnataka. Samples of leaves and rhizosphere soils were collected from direct seeded rice grown in different location (Raichur district, Bellary district, Koppal district and Yadgir district). Thereafter, all the classical recommended methods used for identification of all the obtained isolates were carried out including, morphological, microscopical as well as biochemical characteristics. The results revealed that all the isolates were gram negative, rod shaped, motile.

In this work, we study the influence of the substitution Si for Ni for the magnetic properties of LaNi5-xSix (x = 0-0.5) alloys. The structure of the alloy was tested by X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements. The magnetic properties of the samples were carried out using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) system. The results showed that when Ni was substituted for Si in alloys and after hydrogen absorption, LaNi5-xSix alloys retained their CaCu5 structure. The susceptibility (χ) of the alloys decreased when substituting Ni by Si increased.

The effect of lignin, which is an important additive for the negative electrode in lead±acid batteries, is studied on lead electrodes in sulfuric acid by means of potentiostatic transient measurements and in situ electrochemical atomic force microscope (EC-AFM) observations. During oxidation of the electrodes, it is con®rmed that the current transition in electrolyte with 20 ppm lignin gives a broad, hill-like curve, while that in electrolyte without lignin is a sharp peak.
