In this work, the influences of boric acid and high alumina cement used as modifying additives on the formation of CaO∙Al2O3 and CaO∙2Al2O3 were studied. Herein, commercially available chalk of the M-90 label and technical alumina of the G-0 label were utilized as initial raw materials. Heat treatment of powder mixtures with various concentrations of modifying additives was carried out in the temperature range of 1250-1350oC with an isothermal exposure times of 1h and 2h.

In this study, antimicrobial nanofibers were produced with the mixtures of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and cyclotide-rich fractions by electrospinning method. After extraction, the first separation was carried out with C18 flash chromatography and then fractioned into five separate parts by reversed-phase high-pressure liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). The molecular weights of cyclotides in each fraction were determined by quadrupole time-of-flight liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (Q-TOF LC-MS).

Preparation of benzaldehyde by Swern oxidation of benzyl alcohol was carried out in a continuous flow microreactor system. Dimethyl sulfoxide (Me2SO) was used as oxidizing agent and oxalyl chloride or p-toluenesulfonyl (p-TsCl) chloride was used as the activating agent. Benzyl alcohol was oxidized to benzaldehyde by the Me2SO activating agent mixture in the continuous flow microreactor system. The optimized reaction conditions of the Swern oxidation were as follows: oxalyl chloride was used as the activating agent; the mole ratio of Me2SO, oxalyl chloride, and benzyl alcohol was 4:2:1.

In this work, ratio spectra of the first derivative spectrophotometric and liquid chromatographic methods have been described for the first time for the simultaneous determination of perindopril (PER), indapamide (IND), and amlodipine (AML) in dosage forms. For chromatographic separations several mobile phase compositions were tested for efficient separation with the use of a new column technology related to superficially porous particles. Optimum chromatographic separation was achieved using a Kinetex C18 column (150 × 4.6 mm I.D. 5 µm) at a flow rate of 1.5 mL min−1 .

In order to reduce the serious impacts of industrial and agricultural wastes on the environment, raw rice husk and bottom ash were used as fine aggregates, while fly ash was utilized as a binder material in the production of unburnt building bricks. Two group mixtures were designed with water-to-binder (W/B) ratios of 0.30 and 0.35. The rice husk was used to replace 0%, 3%, 6%, and 9% of bottom ash content by mass.

A field experiment was carried out during kharif, 2016 at the farm of ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Mangaluru, Karnataka state to study the effect of neem cake urea mixed application on growth and yield of rice under submerged condition. The dairy farming in our country is entirely different from other developed countries. The reason is that small and marginal farmers feeding of dairy animals produce the bulk of production in our country. In terms of buffer use in nutrition, it has been defined as a salt of a weak acid which neutralizes acids that occur in feeds or acids produced during digestion and metabolism of nutrients. The experiment was carried out on 16 healthy crossbred cows nearly similar age and in late stage lactation to study the effect of feeding buffer on milk yield and fat per cent of raw milk.

The present study was carried out on sixty Wistar rats divided into groups I, II, III, IV and V for a period of 28 days to study genotoxic effects induced by arsenic, lead and their mixture. The group I served as control while group II, III and IV were gavaged with sodium arsenite, lead acetate and mixture of both metals, respectively. In the present study, experimental investigation on thermal conductivity of green nanofluids prepared from coconut fibre-based nanoparticles and suspended in 60:40 ethylene glycol (EG) water (W) mixture was carried out. The measurement of thermal conductivity was conducted at 15 °C to 60 °C at mass fractions of 0.04 wt%, 0.08 wt%, 0.5 wt% and 1 wt%. The results show deterioration in thermal conductivity with an increasing temperature. Also the deterioration increased as the mass fraction increased.

A leaf blight disease caused by Neopestalotiopsis clavispora is a major problem in various strawberry growing areas causing mild to severe damage to plants. The present investigation was carried out to find out an effective management strategy against the disease using fungicides and biocontrol agents. Among the nine fungicides tested in vitro, carbendazim 12% + mancozeb 63% (Saaf), cymoxanil 8% + mancozeb 64% (Curzate M8), copper hydroxide 77WP (Kocide), copper oxychloride 50WP (Fytolan), propineb 70WP (Antracol) and Bordeaux Mixture showed cent per cent inhibition of the fungus.

The present investigation was carried out to study the feeding and housing patterns adopted by buffaloes keepers in Junagadh and Porbandar districts of Gujarat State. A random sample of 300 buffalo owners were selected from three talukas of Junagadh and two talukas of Porbandar district. Majority of buffalo owners (55.67%) had animal shed located inside dwelling house with kuccha slopped floor (83.67%). Most of buffalo owners reduced heat stress in buffaloes by splashing of water and 71% farmers adopted both stall feeding and grazing to their buffalo.
