Primary focus of the paper is to examine the attitude towards use of mass media among different age category of respondents. The study was conducted in the Hisar city of Haryana State. Two localities were selected randomly viz. Sector-15 A and Jawahar Nagar. Out of each selected locality, 20 respondents each from different age categories i.e. 16-30 years, >30-45 years, >45-60 years and above 60 years were selected randomly.

The main goal of the thesis is to develop a signal processing which exploits the benefits of iterative decoding for MIMO receivers of next generation of mobile TV standard, DVB-NGH but moreover significantly reduces the receiver complexity. The signal processing is based on MMSE equalization with a priori inputs and quantized log-likelihood ratios.

This Master of Science degree thesis aims at investigating, studying and developing the new physical layer for the new handled generation of terrestrial TV standard DVB-NGH. This new physical layer is based on the DVB-T2 physical layer specification, but it introduces several advanced mechanisms to allow the transmission of high definition TV services in mobile environments. The main objective of this thesis work is focused on illustrating the benefits of the new physical layer when compared to T2 physical layer.
