The genus Laccotrephes Stål, 1865 has been known in Vietnam with four species, Laccotrephes grossus (Fabricius, 1787), Laccotrephes longicaudatus Nieser, Zettel & Chen, 2009, Laccotrephes pfeiferiae (Ferrari, 1888) and Laccotrephes simulatus Montandon, 1913. The species Laccotrephes robustus Stal, 1871 is a species endemic to the Philippines, first recorded in Vietnam from specimens collected in Cao Bang, Bac Kan and Nghe An provinces. The occurrence of L. robustus in Vietnam was confirmed by morphological and molecular data.

The paper studies the lipid and fatty acid composition of the sea cucumber Thelenota ananas collected on Bai Dong Island, Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. The total lipid content of dry sample weight was relatively high (11.89%). The triacylglycerol TG has the highest concentration in total lipids with a ratio of up to 66.73%; the PL and PI classes do not have a significant difference with the proportions of 13.44 and 11.65% in total lipids. Two classes of sterol ST, hydrocarbon-wax HW and free fatty acid FFA account for a small proportion.

Distichochlamys citrea (DC) is an endemic ginger species used in treating associatedheart diseases in traditional medicine in Vietnam. However, scientific evidence to support the local use of this plant was limited. The present study aimed to investigate the antioxidant and antithrombotic activities of D. citrea extracts for the first time. The antioxidant activity of DC extracts was assessed by scavenging DPPH radical and measuring their total phenolic content (TPC). The antithrombotic activity was evaluated by inhibiting platelet aggregation and prolonging blood coagulation.

With the aim of inferring phylogenetic relationships among 86 species (including 45 species from Vietnam) mostly of the subfamily Convallarioideae (=Nolinoideae) (Asparagaceae sensu APG IV), we analyzed their chloroplast DNA sequences (rbcL and trnL-F) by both Bayesian inference (BI) and maximum likelihood (ML) methods. Our dataset included six of the seven tribes classified in this subfamily; Convallarieae, Dracaeneae, Liriopeae Nolineae, Polygonateae and Rusceae (Eriospermeae not examined).

Fluctuation of associated microbial with building reef corals Acropora sp. from Hang Rai, Ninh Thuan
In conclusion, symbiotic algae tend to be species-specific, whereas bacteria fluctuate significantly over sampling time. Studying the molecular issues of microalgae, the presence, the role of some groups of bacteria involved in the N, C, P, and S cycles, and the influence of environmental parameters should also be encouraged to understand the relationship of coral holobiont better.

The auxin response factor (ARF) gene family is involved in plant development and hormone regulation. Although the ARF gene family has been studied in some plant species, its structural features, molecular evolution, and expression profiling in Brachypodium distachyon L. are still not clear.

In present work, the formation constants, logb110, logb120 and the concentration of [M] and [MLi ] in complex solutions of Cu2+ and the amino acids were determined by using the quantitative electron structure and properties relationships (QESPRs) and quantitative complex and complex relationships (QCCRs). The relative charge nets for complex structures were calculated by using molecular mechanics MM+ and semiempirical quantum chemistry calculations ZINDO/1. The QESPRs and QCCRs models were constructed by the atomic charge net on complex structures and the multivariate regression analysis.

In this paper the individual markers (COI and 18S rRNA) were successfully used to identify some sponge taxa at the species level. The obtained results showed the congruence of molecular taxonomy using two independent markers. However, our study showed that a combination of the two markers provided more information and supported better for sponge identification.

In Molecular simulation of nanoparticle diffusion at fluid interfaces molecular dynamics simulations are used to exam- ine the transport properties of a nanoparticle in both bulk solvent and at a liquid–liquid interface. Specifically it aims to address the effect of interfacial adsorption on the diffusion of nanoparticles (at low concentration).

The transcription factor serum response factor (SRF) regulates expression of growth factor-dependent genes and muscle-specific genes in vertebrates. Homologous factors regulate differentiation of some ectodermic tissues in invertebrates. To explore the molecular basis of these different physiological functions, the functionality of human, Drosophila melanogaster and Artemia franciscana SRFs in mammalian cells has been compared in this article. The design of b-glycosidases with planed substrate specificity for biotechnological application has received little attention. This is mostly a consequence of the lack of data on the molecular basis of the b-glycosidase specificity, namely data on the energy of the noncovalent interactions in the enzymetransition state complex. In an attempt to fill this gap, sitedirected mutagenesis and enzyme steady-state kinetic experiments with different substrates were conducted, using as model a digestive b-glycosidase (glycoside hydrolase family 1) from Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera) (Sfbgly50).

Introducing site-directed mutations in surface-exposed residues of subunit II of the heme aa3 cytochrome c oxidase of Paracoccus denitrificans, we analyze the kinetic parameters of electron transfer from reduced horse heart cytochrome c. Specifically we address the following issues: (a) which residues on oxidase contribute to the docking site for cytochrome c, (b) is an aromatic side chain required for electron entry from cytochrome c, and (c) what is the molecular basis for the previously observed biphasic reaction kinetics....
