  • In this study, the effect of plant growth regulators (BA and NAA), ripe bananas in combination with potato, humic acid, and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were investigated to find a suitable condition for in vitro plant regeneration from R. imschootiana protocorm-like body (PLB). The results showed that after 45 days of culture, MS medium supplemented with 100 g ripe banana/liter and 100 g potato/liter was suitable for regenerating shoots from the protocorm-like body (PLB) (17.56 shoots/PLBs and 100.00% of shoot-regenerating PLBs).

  • In this study the effectiveness of plant growth regulators on micropropagation, total phenol content and metabolic profiles of Melissa officinalis L., important medicinal herb was assessed. The stem segments derived from one-month old in vitro germinated seedlings were used for initial explants. Of the eight different nutrient media tested the most favorable for micropropagation were found to be MP2 (MS medium enriched with 1mg/L BAP and 0.1 mg/L IBA) and MP3 (MS supplemented with 1.5 mg/L BAP and 0.5 mg/L NAA), which yielded 3.25- 4.0 shoots per explant within 4 weeks of culture.

  • An efficient regeneration protocol was established for a rare plant species, Begonia coptidifolia. Using leaf explants, adventitious shoots were induced on Murashige and Skoog (MS) basal medium using various concentrations (1.0–10.0 mM) of three cytokinins, 6-benzyladenine (BA), thidiazuron (TDZ) and kinetin (KIN). However, adventitious shoots could not be induced on MS medium supplemented with auxins [α-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) or 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D)] tested in the 1.0–10.0 mM range.

  • Water availability is a very important factor for the growth and development of plants, which limits the plant production capacity. Rootstocks are widely utilized to improve plants tolerance to various biotic and abiotic stresses. In this study, physiological and biochemical responses of fifteen almond rootstock candidates to drought stress were investigated under in vitro conditions. The shoot tips from fifteen almond rootstock candidates were cultured in MS medium containing 1.0 mg/L BAP, 0.01 mg/L IBA, 30 g/L sucrose and 7 g/L agar.

  • The cotyledons are suitable materials to create multiple shoot for GmCHI transgenic T. paniculatum when using the MS medium supplemented with kinetin. The addition of 2.0 mg/l of BAP gave a higher multi-shooting effect than the addition of 1.5 mg/l of kinetin or the combination of 1.5 mg/l of kinetin with 0.8 mg/l of IBA. Using 0.5mg/l IAA had better rooting ability than combining 0.5mg/l IAA with kinetin.

  • The obtained results show that FeNPs added to MS medium was higher growth, chlorophyll (a, b and a+b) content, antioxidant activity of SOD and APX enzymesthan Fe-EDTA in MS medium as control treatment. The effect of FeNPs are differences between culture systems. In vitro solid and microponic culture systems, the optimal concentration is 75 mM FeNPs and in vitro hydroponic culture system is 100 mM FeNPs.

  • Roses are one of the most popular fl owers in the world because of their beauty, color, aroma as well as their various uses and Red Eden rose is one of the most popular hybrid roses. Results of the study showed the most optimal medium for shoot multiplication, which was MS + 30 g/l of sucrose + 8 g/l of agar supplemented with 0.5 mg/l of BA. The optimal medium for growth and fl owering was ½MS + 30 g/l of sucrose + 8 g/l of agar supplemented with 30 μM of AgNO3 . However, NAA at all tested concentrations did not show any eff ect on in vitro plant growth.

  • Production of bamboo plants by using vegetative propagation is not simple to establish a commercial fields however micropropagation techniques has much ability to achieve the bamboo seedling demands. In vitro cultures of Bambusa balcooa were achieved by using nodal segment as an explant. Eight different combinations of plant growth regulators with MS basal medium were used for shoot induction and multiplication.

  • The micropropagation protocol of tropical, small evergreen, true mangrove, and woody shrub or tree species, Aegiceras corniculatum, has been standardized. Axillary shoot proliferation was induced in vitro from nodal explants excised from 3-4 years field-grown old plant which was then used as explants for the establishment of in vitro cultures. Surface-sterilized explants were cultured on the Murashige and Skoog (MS) basal medium supplemented with different concentrations and a combination of growth regulators.

  • The present research was focused in standardizing the callus induction technique and studies the behaviour of callus in secondary metabolite production in Andrographis echioides (L.) Nees. In this study, the leaf bits of Andrographis echioides responded positively for callus induction. Earliest (21.00 days) and profuse callusing was observed on MS medium supplemented with 2, 4-D (2.0 mgl-1 ) + NAA (2.0 mgl-1 ) + BAP (2.0 mgl-1 ).

  • The Multi-stripe Travelling Salesman Problem (Ms-TSP) is an extension of the Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP). In the q-stripe TSP with q ≥ 1, the objective function sums the costs for traveling from one vertex to each of the next q vertices along the tour. To solve medium to large-sized instances, a metaheuristic approach is proposed. The proposed method has two main components, which are construction and improvement phases. The construction phase generates an initial solution using the Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedure (GRASP).
