Mungbean yield
-
Mungbean yield is affected by many biological and abiotic factors, in which the blooming flowers and asynchronous in pods are the main causes. The fastest way to improve mungbean yield is to use genotypes available through Ethyl Methane Sulphonate (EMS) mutations and in combination with molecular markers (SSRs and SNPs).

The study was conducted to evaluate the germination, physiological responses, yield-related traits, and seed yield of three mungbean varieties, viz. DXVN7, DXVN5, and DX11, under waterlogging coditions in the 2019 Summer. In experiment 1, the seeds of the three mungbean varieties were immersed in distilled water in Petri dishes for 12, 24, 36, 48, and 72h.

Several studies have been focused on rhizobium mediated stress tolerance in legumes as the ability of symbiotic fixation offer an opportunity to improve nitrogen status of the soil and crop productivity under stress conditions. But to upgrade the existing rhizobial strains with more promising new rhizobial isolates is the demand of hour. So this work aimed to evaluate the responses of different promising rhizobial isolates for physiological traits and to correlate these traits with seed yield under drought condition.

This behaviour may the related to restricted release of boron from organic complexes which ultimately impaired ability of plants to extract B from soil due to lack of moisture in the rhi7osphere. Even of B levels in soil is high, then also low soil moisture impairs transport of B to absorbing root surfaces (Das et al., 2016).

Thirty mungbean genotypes were evaluated for the estimation of genetic variability, heritability, genetic advance, correlation coefficient, and path coefficient analysis for yield and its component traits. A considerable amount of genetic variability was observed among all the genotypes for all the characters under study. GCV & PCV were highest for seed yield per plant, followed by harvest index, biological yield and number of pods per plant.

Thirty five mungbean genotypes were evaluated to select superior parents with genetic diversity based on yield and physiological traits in order to develop high yielding varieties in mungbean. The results of multivariate analysis (D2 ) indicated the presence of considerable genetic divergence among these genotypes.

Effect of phosphorus and biofertilizers on growth and yield of Mungbean [Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek]
A field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2015 on loamy sand soil at the Agronomy farm, S.K.N. College of Agriculture, Jobner (Rajasthan). The experiment consisted of four levels of phosphorus (Control, 20, 40 and 60 kg P2O5 ha-1 ) and four treatments of biofertilizers (Control, PSB, Aspergillus awamori and PSB + Aspergillus awamori) thereby, making sixteen treatment combinations and replicated thrice.

Rice (Oryza sativa L.)‒wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is the major cropping system in western Indo-Gangetic Plain of India. This system is very exhaustive and there is a need to include a leguminous crop in this system for sustainable agriculture. Field experiments were conducted for two years to explore the possibility of growing cowpea [Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.] and mungbean [Vigna radiata (L.

The investigation was conducted on three mungbean [Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek] genotypes namely MH-421, MH-318 and Basanti genotypes to study their biochemical, and yield response in relation to terminal heat stress tolerance. The plants were raised in earthen pots (30 cm diameter) filled with 5.5 kg of dune sand (Typic Torrispamments) under screen house conditions. High temperature stress was given by manipulation of sowing dates i.e. normal sown (12th March, 2013) and late sown (29th March, 2013).
