Present study was undertaken to evolve an efficient and reliable measure for management of sheath blight of rice through application of judicious doses of plant nutrients. In this investigation, the effect of different doses i.e. control dose (naturally available in soil), deficient dose, recommended dose and excess dose of macronutrients (N, P &K) & micronutrients (S, Zn & Fe) were assessed on incubation period for first appearance of sheath blight, disease severity and on phenolic contents in inoculated rice plants.

The present investigation was carried out in 73 eggplant genotypes to assess the nature and extent of genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance under normal (0% PEG-6000 as control) and osmotic stress condition (12 % PEG-6000) in germination phases in three replications in a completely randomized design. The observations on germination per cent, root, shoot and seedling length, fresh weight of seedlings and total dry matter were recorded on tenth day after incubation.

Nipah virus is an emerging zoonotic paramyxovirus that causes severe and often fatal disease in pigs and humans. The natural host of the virus is fruit bats of the Family Pteropodidae. The virus spreads through direct contact with infected bats, pigs, or from other infected people. After an incubation period of two weeks, the disease presents as fever, headache, dizziness and vomiting, followed by drowsiness, disorientation and mental confusion.

Different agar media, including natural, Oat Meal Agar (OMA), Malt Extract Agar (MEA), V8 Agar and Leaf extract agar of host plant, semi-synthetic media, Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA), carrot dextrose agar (CaDA) and synthetic media, Czapex Dox Agar (CDA), Richards Synthetic Agar (RSA), Asthana and Hawkers Agar (AHA)) were used to observed the mycelial growth rate, cultural and morphological characters of four fungal isolates after seven days of incubation at 26±1°C.

Biodegradation is a potential way of decomposing deproteinized natural rubber (DPNR). The enrichment consortia were demonstrated from a rubber processing factory waste. Nine DPNR-degrading bacteria were isolated from those consortia. The highest DPNR film weight loss in a mineral salt medium (MSM) was 43.92 ± 2.30 % after 30 days incubation using strain 5A1. The formation of aldehyde group during rubber degradation of 5A1 was determined using Schiff staining and Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis.

In commercial broiler hatcheries, chicks hatch over a period of 20–36 hours. The chicks are removed from the hatch tray of the incubator after a majority of them have cleared from the eggshell. Then, the chicks undergo various hatchery practices like sexing, vaccination, packaging, and transport before they are placed in a commercial broiler farm. Thus, under practical conditions, chicks remain deprived of feed and water for about 48– 72 hours after hatching.

Petroleum-based products are the major source of energy for industry and daily life. Leaks and accidental spills occur regularly during the exploration, production, refining, transport, and storage of petroleum and petroleum products. Crude oil-impacted tropical soil and natural water samples (0 - 30cm depth) were obtained from the Niger Delta, Nigeria. A total of twenty seven bacterial species of relevance in bioremediation were isolated and characterized using standard and conventional methods. The predominant species belong to the genera Pseudomonas and Proteus.

The study was descriptive and quantitative in nature, using questionnaires to collect data from a sample of one hundred and twenty (120) SMEs across the Durban area. The findings show that lack of understanding of financial reporting has a negative impact on the financial stability of the business. Also the lack of insufficient financial experience proved to have a negative impact on the financial stability of SMEs.

Fen liquor is typical of Chinese light-flavor liquor, which is fermented from sorghum with Fen-Daqu powder. Fen-Daqu is a saccharifying agent and fermentation starter obtained by natural solid-state fermentation under non-sterile conditions. The standard plate count and the online measurement methods were used to enumerate the surviving microorganisms, and measure the physiochemical in Fen-Daqu during the incubation.
