This research investigates the relationship between post fault transient overvoltages and the functionality of the digital distance protection. The study is conducted in a 66kV network with a neutral earth resistor as method to earth the power system. This paper begins by performing an extensive power system analysis on ground fault transient overvoltages. The study is conducted by using the PSCAD-EMTC software package.

In this paper, the problem of exponential stability for a class of nonlinear neutral systems with interval time-varying delay is studied. Based on improved Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals combine with Leibniz-Newton’s formula, new delay-dependent sufficient conditions for the exponential stability of the systems are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which allows to compute the maximal bound of the exponential stability rate of the solution.

The modified epoxy resin was synthetized from epoxy resin via opening all oxyran rings by dietanolamine and aminoamide of linseed oil fatty acids then mixed with fully blocked toluendiisocyanate by trimetylolpropan and 2-etylhexanol. The resin mixture was neutralized by lactic acid in water to form an emulsified system for the cathodic electrodeposited paint. The film forming conditions were studied and characteristics of film on carbon steel were investigated.

Substrate properties of xanthine (Xan) and xanthosine (Xao) for purine nucleoside phosphorylases (PNP) of mammalian origin have been reported previously, but only at a single arbitrarily selected pH and with no kinetic con-stants. Additionally, studies have not taken into account the fact that, at physiological pH, Xao (pKa¼5.7) is a mono-anion, while Xan (pKa¼7.7) is an equilibrium mixture of the neutral and monoanionic forms.

The pulmonary surfactant prevents alveolar collapse and is required for normal pulmonary function. One of the important components of the surfactant besides phos-pholipids is surfactant-associated protein C (SP-C). SP-C shows complex oligomerization behavior and a transition to b-amyloid-like fibril structures, which are not yet fully understood. Besides this nonspecific oligomerization, MS and chemical cross-linking data combined with CD spectra provide evidence of a specific, mainlya-helical, dimer at lowto neutral pH....

Dermaseptin PD-3-7 (aDrs) from frog skin contains three aspartic acid resi-dues resulting in a negative net charge at neutral pH, as opposed to numer-ous other dermaseptins which are cationic helical antimicrobial peptides. Still, this peptide can be fitted into an amphipathicahelix by an Edmundson wheel projection.

Sites of action of the four major physiologic antithrombotic pathways: antithrombin (AT); protein C/S (PC/PS); tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI); and the fibrinolytic system, consisting of plasminogen, plasminogen activator (PA), and plasmin. PT, prothrombin; Th, thrombin; FDP, fibrin(ogen) degradation products. [Modified from BA Konkle, AI Schafer, in DP Zipes et al (eds): Braunwald's Heart Disease, 7th ed. Philadelphia, Saunders, 2005.] Antithrombin (or antithrombin III) is the major plasma protease inhibitor of thrombin and the other clotting factors in coagulation.
