This study aimed to investigate the levels of contamination of potentially toxic trace elements in the soil of Dong Nai Province, Vietnam. To achieve this, the Instrument Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA) method was employed to measure the concentrations of five potentially toxic trace elements, including manganese (Mn), arsenic (As), chromium (Cr), antimony (Sb), and zinc (Zn), across 30 soil samples collected from the region.

Ebook "Quasielastic neutron scattering: Principles and applications in solid state chemistry, biology, and materials science" is to provide a state of the art exposition of quasielastic neutron scattering both for specialists in this subject and for those who work in related fields such as NMR, infrared and Raman spectroscopy. Quasielastic Neutron Scattering starts with a thorough grounding in basic theory and then describes the instruments and methods used in cold neutron scattering such as neutron spin-echo spectrometers.

This review was aimed to find out real life application of noble gas xenon. The noble gas xenon (Xe) occupy the zero group of the periodic table. It is fifth member of noble gas family. It is a colorless, dense, odorless noble gas found in the Earth's atmosphere in trace amounts. Xenon has so many application in real life, viz., in arc lamps in xenon HID (high-intensity discharge) lamp and in high pressure arc lamps to produce ultraviolet light. It is used in instruments for radiation detection, e.g., neutron and X-ray counters and bubble chambers.

BornAgain is a free and open-source multi-platform software framework for simulating and fitting X-ray and neutron reflectometry, off-specular scattering, and grazing-incidence small-angle scattering (GISAS). This paper concentrates on GISAS. Support for reflectometry and off-specular scattering has been added more recently, is still under intense development and will be described in a later publication. BornAgain supports neutron polarization and magnetic scattering. Users can define sample and instrument models through Python scripting.

Neutron scattering applications often require discriminating the elastic contribution from the inelastic contribution. For this purpose, correlation spectroscopy offers an effective tool with both pulsed and continuous neutron sources as well as several advantages: the analysis of the neutron velocity distribution can be carried out with a duty factor of 50%, independently on the resolution value; the best statistical accuracy for spectra where the elastic part encompasses most of the integrated intensity is provided.

The spectrum weighted responses of various detectors were calculated to provide guidance on the proper selection and use of survey instruments on the basis of their energy response characteristics on the neutron fields. To yield the spectrum weighted response, the detector response functions of 17 neutron-measuring devices were numerically folded with each of the produced calibration neutron spectra through the in-house developed software ‘K-SWR’.

The samples are important in various fields including nuclear technology. Methods: Samples were neutron irradiated using nuclear reactors, and the radioactive assay was carried out using high-resolution gamma-ray spectrometry. Major to trace mass fractions were determined using both relative and internal monostandard (IM) NAA methods as well as OES methods

This paper presents a study on thermal neutron reflection properties of neutron guide for cylinder, spindle, elliptic and parabolic geometries using 241Am-Be neutron source (5.2 Ci) and BF3 detector, whereas neutron guide is important instrument for transportation of neutrons. To this goal, the required inner and outer radii of neutron guide have been calculated to achieve the highest guided thermal neutron flux based on MCNPX Monte Carlo code.
