This study aimed to investigate the levels of contamination of potentially toxic trace elements in the soil of Dong Nai Province, Vietnam. To achieve this, the Instrument Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA) method was employed to measure the concentrations of five potentially toxic trace elements, including manganese (Mn), arsenic (As), chromium (Cr), antimony (Sb), and zinc (Zn), across 30 soil samples collected from the region.

Ebook "Structure determination by X-ray crystallography: Analysis by X-rays and neutrons (Fifth edition)" discussing the practice of neutron diffraction techniques, with examples, broadens the scope of the text in a highly desirable way. As with previous editions, the book contains problems to illustrate the work of each chapter, and detailed solutions are provided. Mathematical procedures related to the material of the main body of the book are not discussed in detail, but are quotedwhere needed with references to standard mathematical texts.

For the future of nuclear power, the design and development of an economical, accident tolerant fuel (ATF) for use in the current pressurized water reactors (PWRs) are highly desirable and essential. It is reported that the composite fuels are advantageous over the conventional UO2 fuel due to their higher thermal conductivities and a higher uranium densities.

A new PGNAA facility has been installed at horizontal channel No.4 of the Dalat research reactor. The facility consists of the following parts: collimators, beam stopper, sample holder table, beam catcher, and biological shielding. The construction takes into account the basic parameters associated with the facility, such as adequate thermal neutron flux and cadmium ratio, good signal-to-background condition, small gamma-ray contamination in the beam and appropriately low dose-rate to the operating personnel.

This work presents the neutronic analysis of fuel design for a long-life core in a pressurized water reactor (PWR). In order to achieve a high burnup, a high enrichment U235 is traditionally considered without special constraints against proliferation. To counter the excess reactivity, Erbium was selected as a burnable poison due to its good depletion performance.

The nonlinear stability analysis of a supercritical light water reactor (SCLWR) is presented using a nuclearcoupled thermal-hydraulic reduced-order model. The analytical model is developed by coupling 1. the pointkinetics equations with one group of delayed neutrons, 2. the fuel heat transfer and 3. a 1-D reduced order model which represents the heat absorption phenomenon during the coolant flow.

Solid State Nuclear Track Detectors (SSNTD) have been used as passive dosimeters for many decades. Fast neutron detection is performed by detecting recoil protons generated in a hydrogenous material (neutron converter). The dose is estimated by multiplying the recoil protons track-spots density present on the detector surface by a calibration coefficient obtained from reference irradiations.

Fluorescence Nuclear Track Detectors (FNTDs) are part of a new technology developed for particle detection and applicable to personal neutron dosimetry. The objective of this study is to simulate the FNTD fast neutron response to: (i) assess and understand the performance of the existing neutron dosimeter design (Landauer Inc.) and its associated single layer track-spots analysis; and (ii) evaluate the potential information that can be obtained by the analysis of the 3D reconstructed recoil proton trajectories.
