It is one of the first studies exploring the impacts of the VSTEP - a new English proficiency test in Vietnam, so this study would fill in the research gap on the VSTEP. The study is potentially significant in that it provides an insight into the impact of an exit test on English language learning in University of Languages and International Studies (ULIS).
