Nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are widely used for the treatment of pain and inflammation. Some undesirable effects are linked with NSAIDs such as the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) toxicity and cardiovascular disturbances. At present the preparation of a hybrid molecular technique is being used to produce new analgesic and antiinflammatory molecules. Attachment of NSAIDs with nitric oxide and hydrogen sulfide releasing molecules produced some gastroprotective agents with improved analgesic and antiinflammatory activities.

Ketoprofen and isoniazid together are a potential combination of a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug and an antitubercular medicine to treat tuberculosis and associated symptoms like fever and fatigue. The Schiff base of isoniazid with ketoprofen is synthesized in this research. Infrared spectroscopy (IR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis of the crystal packing proved the formation of the Schiff base and the existence of N-H···O hydrogen bonds between the hydrogen-bonded dimer of the Schiff base.

A simple and reliable HPLC method was developed and validated for determination of rofecoxib in bovine serum albumin microsphere. The analyses were performed on a C18 column (150 x 4.6 mm, 5 µm particle size) at room temperature with UV detection at 272 nm. The mobile phase was composed of acetonitrile-0.1% o-phosphoric acid solution in water (1:1, v/v) mixture, and flow rate was set to 1 mL/min. The method was validated according to the international guidelines with respect to stability, linearity range, limit of quantitation and detection, precision, accuracy, specificity, and robustness.

Diclofenac sodium (DS), a potent inhibitor of cyclooxygenase, reduces the release of arachidonic acid and formation of prostaglandins. Being a nonsteroid drug that shows antiinflammatory action, the possible side effects of fetal DS administration gain importance in public and medical applications. Herein, the effects of DS administration (1 mg/kg) during gestational days 5–20 were investigated on the performance of Wistar rat pups in a variety of behavioral tasks.

The term acid-peptic disorders encompasses a variety of relatively specific medical conditions in which injury by gastric acid (and activated pepsin) is thought to play an important role. These disorders include gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), benign "peptic" ulcers of the stomach and duodenum, ulcers secondary to the use of conventional nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and ulcers due to the rare Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Upper Respiratory Infections: Treatment Antibiotics have no role in the treatment of uncomplicated nonspecific URI. In the absence of clinical evidence of bacterial infection, treatment remains entirely symptom-based, with use of decongestants and nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs. Other therapies directed at specific symptoms are often useful, including dextromethorphan for cough and lozenges with topical anesthetic for sore throat. Clinical trials of zinc, vitamin C, echinacea, and other alternative remedies have revealed no consistent benefit for the treatment of nonspecific URI.
