Nuclear factor Y (NF-Y) is a transcription factor which plays an important role in the regulation of various developmental processes and stress responses in plants. By using various bioinformatics tools, the identification and analyses of the NF-YA subunit of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) have been attempted in this study. A total of 12 members of the NF-YA gene family were identified in the cassava genome. They were located on the 18 cassava chromosomes with different frequencies. Several initial structural analyses of the NF-YA family were also performed.

Nhân tố phiên mã Nuclear factor-Y (NF-Y) được cấu tạo bởi 3 tiểu phần NF-YA, NF-YB và NF-YC, là nhóm protein điều hòa tham gia vào nhiều quá trình quan trọng ở thực vật. Trong nghiên cứu này, tiểu phần NF-YC đã được phân tích ở cây sắn (Manihot esculenta) dựa trên các phân tích tin sinh học. Kết quả đã xác định được 14 gen mã hóa NFYC ở genome cây sắn, đặt tên là MeNF-YC. Phân tích cấu trúc cho thấy, phần lớn các gen MeNF-YC chỉ có một exon, tương tự như ghi nhận ở các loài thực vật khác.

The decoy approach against nuclear factor kB (NF-kB) is a useful tool to alter NF-kB dependent gene expression using synthetic oligonucleotides (ODNs) carrying NF-kB specific cis-elements. Unfortunately, ODNs are not stable and need to be extensively modified to be used in vivo or ex vivo. We have previously evaluated the possible use of peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) as decoy molecules. The backbone of PNAs is composed of N-(2-aminoethyl)glycine units, rendering these molecules resistant to both nucleases and proteases.
