Moreover, the design and implementation of 2D digital filters with variable fractional delay and variable magnitude responses without redesigning the filter has become a crucial topic of interest due to its significance in low-cost applications. Recently the design using fixed word length coefficients has gained importance due to the replacement of multipliers by shifters and adders, which reduces the hardware complexity.

This paper describes the possible modifications of one of the multi-criteria analysis methods that possess certain advantages in cases of solving the real business problems. We will discuss the TOPSYS method, whereas the modification reflects in change of the determination manner of the ideal and anti-ideal points in criteria environment, in standardization of quantification and fuzzycation of the attributes in cases of criteria expressed by linguistic variables.

For certain kinds of applied research it is no longer considered acceptable only to report that results were statistically significant. Statistically significant results indicate that a researcher has discovered evidence of a real difference between parameters or a real association between variables, but it is one of unknown size.

So far, we have stressed that integrating nominal variables and inflation targeting into the analysis is merely helpful for understanding boom-bust episodes. In fact, if one is not to wander too far from current standard models, it is essential. To clarify this point, it is useful to think of the standard real business cycle model that emerges when we strip away all monetary factors from our model. If we take a completely standard version of such a model, a signal shock is completely incapable of generating a boom-bust that resembles anything like what we see.

The regression results also imply that expected inflation has a substantial effect on expected long-run real equity returns. In other words, in addition to the negative effect on stock prices associated with its effect on expected earnings, higher expected inflation also raises long- run required returns. Roughly speaking, a one percentage point increase in expected inflation increases required long-run real stock returns about a percentage point; equivalently, it reduces the current price of stocks about 20 percent.

There is a global trend of falling household sizes over time, though an international comparison quickly reveals that this reduction is not uniform across countries. Apart from tradition, economic variables are influential in determining how many people live together in one household. We have tried to capture this relationship with a pooled cross-section of 38 countries and data for different years between 1960 and 2006. The dependent variable is the average household size.
