  • This study presents a force control approach for an EHA system using a combination of a feedforward-based PID (FPID) controller and a grey predictor (GP), shortened as grey predictor-based feedforward PID Controller (GPFPID). The FPID controller is used to drive the system to desired targets. Meanwhile, the GP predictor takes part in estimating the output in the near future to optimize the controller parameters in advance and to create a compensating control signal corresponding to the system perturbations, consequently, improving the control performance.

  • In this paper we establish necessary and sufficient condition for zero duality gap of the optimization problem involving the general perturbation mapping via characteringsetunder the convex setting. An application to the class of composite optimization problems will also be given to show that our general results can be applied to various classes of optimization problems.

  • Pooled CRISPR screens are a powerful tool to probe genotype-phenotype relationships at genome-wide scale. However, criteria for optimal design are missing, and it remains unclear how experimental parameters affect results. Here, we report that random decreases in gRNA abundance are more likely than increases due to bottle-neck effects during the cell proliferation phase. Failure to consider this asymmetry leads to loss of detection power.

  • The reaction mechanism between propadienylidene and methyleneimine was systematically investigated employing the second-order Møller–Plesset perturbation theory (MP2) method with the 6 – 31 + G* basis set. Geometry optimization, vibrational analysis, and energy property of the involved stationary points on the potential energy surface were calculated. The energies of the different species were corrected by single point energy calculations at the CCSD (T) // MP2 / 6 – 31 + G* level.

  • The aim of this study was to validate a model for optimal birth weight derived from neonatal records, and to test the assumption that preterm births may be considered optimally grown if they are not exposed to common factors that perturb fetal growth.

  • In this paper we generalize an infeasible interior-point method for linear optimization to horizontal linear complementarity problem (HLCP). This algorithm starts from strictly feasible iterates on the central path of a perturbed problem that is produced by suitable perturbation in HLCP problem. Then, we use so-called feasibility steps that serves to generate strictly feasible iterates for the next perturbed problem.

  • The paper proposes a nonlinear control method, which can be applied to output tracking control a wide range of various perturbed nonlinear objects. This output feedback controller is established based on piecewise quadratic optimizing subjected to input constraints for state feedback control and then combined with an appropriate EKF or UKF for system state observation.

  • Knowing that the plant parameters can vary within their lower and upper bounds, this parametric uncertainty is formulated as an additive perturbation in the transfer function matrix. It is important to note that the controller be designed with respect to worst case uncertainty for each λij. This can be achieved by performing an optimization procedure given by (61) for 200 frequencies. Here an element by element uncertainty bound model is used for the characterization of upper bound of the uncertainty matrix. Then wij , which satisfies (62) for each λij is given in matrix form as,...

  • Theoretically the Kalman Filter is an estimator for what is called the linear-quadratic problem, which is the problem of estimating the instantaneous ``state'' (a concept that will be made more precise in the next chapter) of a linear dynamic system perturbed by white noiseÐby using measurements linearly related to the state but corrupted by white noise. The resulting estimator is statistically optimal with respect to any quadratic function of estimation error
