  • Micro-mineral deficiencies of Zinc, Manganese, Iodine and Copper have been identified in blood plasma and serum levels of livestock in state of Punjab. Eighteen female buffalo calves of 15 day of age were randomly divided into 2 groups of nine each and fed calf starter of ingredient composition as per the prevailing feeding practice at the university dairy farm containing 0.66% zinc and 0.1% copper (organic and inorganic) in the mineral mixture as per specifications along with green fodder and milk.   • A split herd design experiment was undertaken on an organized dairy farm at Village Chimna Kalan near Jagraon, Ludhiana, Punjab (India) to test the benefit of pre-milking in addition to post-milking teat disinfection on new mastitis levels. A Lactic acid based germicidal pre-dip (‘B4-MTM’ from Hester biosciences Ltd, Ahmadabad) was applied manually using foaming cups, over a complete lactation.   • Sub-acute ruminal acidosis (SARA) is a significant production digestive disorder of dairy cattle. This study conducted a point prevalence study of rumen health status in well-organized dairy herds in pollachi district of Tamil nadu. The study assessed rumen fluid, animal health status, milk production data and biological parameters.   • Diarrhoea is one of the most important problem causing great economic loss to dairy industry by drastic reduction in milk production. The present study was carried out in cattle reared at different organized dairy farms in and around Durg to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of synbiotics along with antibiotic in diarrhoeic cattle.   • The present study was aimed to determine prevalence and etiology of sub clinical mastitis in an organized buffalo dairy farm of LUVAS, Hisar, India along with antibiogram against their respective causative organisms. A total of 401 quarter milk samples were collected from 102 apparently healthy buffaloes. According to the IDF criteria the percent animal wise prevalence of sub clinical mastitis on the basis of somatic cell count (SCC) (>500000/ml) was 2.94, whereas on the basis of cultural examination it was 29.41.   • Bovine mastitis is a large-scale infectious disease of the mammary gland with significant impact on the economy of milk production along with alterations in its quality. A total of 100 mastitis suspected milk samples were collected from different organized dairy farms of Bikaner city and were evaluated for isolation, identification and antibiotic sensitivity pattern of Escherichia coli. Out of 100 mastitis suspected milk samples, 24 samples were positive for Escherichia coli (24.0%).
