Carbon nanohorns (CNHs) were produced and employed for the controlled release of polyvinylpyrrolidone-iodine (PVPI). CNHs with unique surface properties were produced via the gasinjected arc-in-water method incorporated with surface modification by oxygen plasma treatment.

Nitrogen content in graphene influences application performance. Although many studies have been conducted on single-process nitrogen (N)-doping, dopant content is still quite low. First, graphene oxide (GO) was hydrothermally nitrogen-doped. This nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide (NrGO) was then subjected to secondary plasma treatment. Two nitrogen(N)-doping mechanisms were observed depending on graphene's oxygen functionalized.

The present study addresses the removal of cadmium ions (Cd(II)) from aqueous solutions at a pH of 7.5 using zeolite-A activated by exposure to oxygen plasma. The activation process was performed over a wide range of plasma powers (10, 20, 30, and 40 W) and exposure times (30 to 360 s). Oxygen plasma cannot chemically modify zeolite to a considerable extent, but it can clean the surface, open blocked pores, and induce the formation of additional OH groups via exposure to humidity in ambient air. Therefore, Cd+2 ion removal is increased by approximately 10% with the plasma treatments.

The present study was envisaged to check the physico-chemical properties of effluents being treated at CETPs and to isolate indigenous heavy metal tolerant bacteria for their subsequent utilization for heavy metal uptake. Effluent samples were collected from two CETPs located in Ludhiana and Jalandhar and were analyzed for their physico-chemical parameters (dissolved oxygen (DO), biological oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD) and pH) and heavy metal profile using Inductively Coupled Argon Plasma-Emission Spectroscopy (ICAP-AES).

This study investigated the effect of cold plasma treatment on growth, fruit and seed parameters of bell pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) cultivar California Wonder. The seeds were exposed to various durations of oxygen cold plasma treatment using glow discharge technique at FCIPT, Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. The seeds were pre-treated with power of 100 W for treatment durations of 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 minutes. The changes in surface morphology of plasma treated seeds were studied by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Contact Angle Goniometer.
