Suffusion is one of the four types of internal erosion and accounts for 46% of erosion phenomena in earth dams. Suffusion is an erosion of fine particles inside the soil structure that move out of the voids between coarse particles caused by permeability flow. Identification of internal erosion is necessary to mitigate the loss of humans and property as underground erosion occurs.

The neutron-rich nuclei 63,65Cr were produced at the RIBF facility at RIKEN in the first campaign of the “Shell Evolution And Search for Two-plus energies At RIBF” (SEASTAR) project. The preliminary results of in-beam gamma ray spectroscopy of these nuclei, the detail of experimental setup and the particle identification method are presented.

Heparin was immobilized on magnetic chitosan particles to be used as a tool for human plasma protein identification. Chitosan was magnetized by co-precipitation with Fe2+/Fe3+ (MAG-CH). Heparin was functionalized with carbodiimide and N-hydroxysuccinimide and covalently linked to MAG-CH (MAG-CH-hep).

This paper proposes a node location identification in WSN based on a combined Ant Lion Optimizer (ALO) with a typical model of localization. The fitness function is modeled mathematically based on estimating distances of the WSN nodes. The updating solutions of the population are figured out for position correcting to improve the node positioning accuracy. The effects of parameters like node density and communicating range is verified in the experiments to evaluate the performance of the proposed method in terms of concerning average localization error and success ratio.

This paper presents the identification for 63,65Cr isotopes as the products of knockout reactions for the first time, measured at RIKEN, Japan, within the framework of the “Shell Evolution And Search for Two-plus energies At RIBF” (RIBF- Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory) project, in short SEASTAR. Based on the Bρ-ΔE-ToF method, these nuclei were well separated. The results will be used in the spectroscopic study on 63,65Cr contributing data to the structural study around the N=40 “island of inversion”.

The Partially-Observed Boolean Dynamical System (POBDS) signal model is distinct from other deterministic and stochastic Boolean network models in removing the requirement of a directly observable Boolean state vector and allowing uncertainty in the measurement process, addressing the scenario encountered in practice in transcriptomic analysis.

An important task of macromolecular structure determination by cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) is the identification of single particles in micrographs (particle picking). Due to the necessity of human involvement in the process, current particle picking techniques are time consuming and often result in many false positives and negatives.

The aim of this study is to apply an automated identification and quantification system with a GC-MS database (AIQS-DB) for simultaneous analysis of phthalate esters (PAEs) and sterols in air particles. Air particles samples were collected on the roof of a buildingnear congested traffic road (Pham Van Dong street, Ha Noi) (AP1) and in a highly populatedresidential area (Phu Do town) (AP2). At each sampling location, samples were collected separately for 10 hours each at day and night, during continuously 6 days by Kimoto high-volume air sampler.

In this paper, we present a new recursive method to compute higher order sensitivities of node voltages. Using the sensitivity coefficients we formulate multivariate polynomial equations. Fault identification is obtained by solving these equations concerned with element deviations. This task can be accomplished by using a multivariable Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for solving nonlinear multivariable equations.

In this paper, a novel inverse dynamic fuzzy NARX model is used for modeling and identifying the IPMC-based actuator’s inverse dynamic model. The contact force variation and highly nonlinear cross effect of the IPMC-based actuator are thoroughly modeled based on the inverse fuzzy NARX model-based identification process using experiment input-output training data.
