This paper introduces a novel high gain and wideband antenna array at 5 GHz for outdoor applications. The proposed array consists of a 2×9 elements planar array and a reflector. This antenna has a gain peak of 15.7 dBi and a bandwidth of 2 GHz from 4.0 GHz to 6.0 GHz.

The study aims to analyse the tidal asymmetry in mangrove forest by using the numerical modelling and the measured data in two mangrove forest areas: Can Gio (Ho Chi Minh city) and Cu Lao Dung (Soc Trang province). The results of 2D model in the mangrove forest show that there is the asymmetry in current velocity: Two velocity peaks exist at flood tide and two at ebb tide.

The growers at focus dragon fruit areas do not know the timing of peak thrips population, or which methods to use to control them. Thus, study on morphological and biological characteristics of Melon thrips and efficacy of some botanical and so insecticides to control the thrips on dragon fruit was performed.

During the 2017 season we investigated the occurrence and biology of the brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB), Halyomorpha halys, a new invasive insect pest in two commercial hazelnut orchards located in the Samegrelo Region, Republic of Georgia. The first stink bug adults from the overwintering generation appeared on sticky traps at the end of May, while all instar nymphs and adults were observed at the end of July and through August. The peak occurrence of adults and nymphs in the field was observed at 896– 1061 DD13.9.

The samples annealed at 150 C and 250 C showed a better optical absorption in the visible and the near infrared spectral regions with dominant characteristic peaks at 691.2 nm and 801.6 nm. The study examines how bypass diode could improve maximum power extraction characteristics of a PV module under shaded conditions. The study clarifies the fundamental mechanism of reduction in output power under shading condition for different configurations. It was observed that the reduction of power depends upon type of shade on module, shaded area and configuration of PV module. It was found that under partial shading conditions, a solar PV system may exhibit multiple peaks in its P–V characteristics.

A survey was conducted during 2017-18 to study the leaf nutrient norms using Diagnosis and Recommendation Integrated System (DRIS) for Byadgi chilli crop in three district of north Karnataka. A total of 175 locations were selected and index chilli leaf samples were collected at peak flowering stage. These samples were analysed for nutrients to establish the data bank. The whole population of study area was divided into low and high yielding categories taking chilli yield of 8.50 q/ha as cut off level.

The study was carried out to develop various thematic maps for a restricted forest watershed named Machhundri, located at Gir Sanctuary of Saurashtra region in Gujarat, India. Different thematic maps comprising of elevation map, aspect map, contour map, land use/land cover map, slope map, drainage map and soil map were generated using remote sensing and GIS methods. The qualitative phytochemical screening of the ethanolic seed extract of Cola lepidota revealed the presence of important phytochemicals. The GCMS fatty acid chromatogram showed that the extract contained fourteen fatty acid compounds and out of the fourteen compounds, five were more prominent with the peaks corresponding to the retention time range of 18.008 – 21.020.

Mineralogy of clay fractions and characteristics of Groundnut growing soils developed from granite-gneiss parent material in Srikalahasti division in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh were studied. The clay fraction of these soils exhibited the characteristic peaks of smectite, illite and kaolinite. Semi-quantification of clay fractions based on relative areas under corresponding peaks indicated that the pedon 3 and 6 was dominated by kaolinite followed by illite, smectite and Quartz.
