  • Visual evoked potentials (VEPs) are electrical potentials generated by neurons in the central nervous system in response to visual stimuli. A series of positive and negative wavelets in response to flash-stimuli (flashVEP; FVEP) or reversing, iso-luminant patterns (pattern-VEP; PVEP) are recorded. Pathological conditions affecting the post-retinal pathways can alter overall waveform morphology, and also affect wavelet peak times and amplitudes.

  • A validated liquid chromatography method employing a fluorescence detector for the determination of ochratoxin A (OTA) was developed with double internal standard and it was applied to ten different poultry feeds. The analysis was performed in an octadecyl silane column using a solvent system [ACN:water:formic acid (50:50:1.25, v/v/v)] by isocratic elution. The flow rate and injection volume were 1 mL min−1 and 12 µL, respectively.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the adsorption behavior of cationic and anionic dyes onto a hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) nanostructure that was rich in a negative charge. Herein, the hBN nanostructure was synthesized using boric acid as a precursor material. The characteristic peaks of the hBN nanostructure were performed using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and Raman spectroscopies. The morphology and the particle size of hBN nanostructure were determined by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

  • In this paper, we report on biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles using Gracilaria corticata (Red seaweed) at room temperature along with photo-catalytic degradation of Malachite green dye. UV spectral analysis showed peak at 380 nm with special reference to the excitation of surfaces plasmon vibration by silver nanoparticles. The morphology of silver nanoparticles was found to be spherical and ranges about 100 nm as confirmed by HR-SEM. Positive zeta potential value of 7.7mV suggests that the nanoparticles are moderately stable in colloidal solution.

  • In the present research, variable morphology of the silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) synthesized by using Pleurotus florida mycelia extract as a bioreductant at two different reaction conditions (shaking and static), has been reported. The formed AgNPs were characterized for the specific SPR (Surface Plasmon Resonance) peak position around 400 to 450 nm at different time intervals by UV-vis spectroscopy.

  • The objective of this work was to study the reproductive biology in four nerium cultivars. Anthesis, anther dehiscence, stigma receptivity, flower and fruit morphology, pollen morphology and production, ovule production and pollen ovule ratio were studied. Anthesis in nerium cultivars started from 5.30 a.m. and reached the peak by 6.30 a.m. except in yellow cultivar (6.30 to 7.30 am). Nerium flowers are protandrous in nature and the anthers dehisced by longitudinal slit just before the anthesis. Anther dehiscence started at 5.30 a.m. and maximum anther dehisce was observed between 5.

  • Morphometric analysis, which refers to the science of quantitative analysis of land surface, has been carried on Kamleshwar watershed of Hiran River in Gujarat using remote sensing and GIS techniques. Digital Elevation Model of 30 m × 30 m resolution was used to prepare the detailed drainage map in ArcGIS software and stream ordering was in which study area has trunk order of 5. Total seventeen morphometric parameters including linear, areal and relief aspects have been estimated. Mean bifurcation ratio of the watershed has been calculated to be 3.

  • The present work focused on the synthesis of b-chitosan submicron particles (CSPs) from Todarodes pacificus using mechanochemical techniques. The gladius was submitted to a sequence of mechanical and chemical treatments to synthesize b-chitin (CT), which was further deacetylated to form spherical chitosan submicron particles with an average diameter of 6100 nm. The surface morphology of b-chitin and CSPs was observed using electron microscopy. The degree of deacetylation (DD%), evaluated from the absorbance peak of a Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrum, was 80 ± 2.5%.

  • The interaction of metal oxide nanoparticles with plants has not been extensively studied. An attempt has been made to examine the potential variation in peanut plant leaves due to the application of Fe2O3 nanoparticle by pre-sowing technique and to compare with its bulk counterpart. Fe2O3 nanoparticle was synthesized by chemical route and characterized using X-ray diffraction, atomic force and scanning electron microscopy. The Fe2O3 nanoparticle and its bulk counterpart are applied to the peanut seeds by pre-soaking method at two different concentrations: 500 and 4000 ppm.

Surface plasmon resonance absorption was observed with different peaks in the range of 400-1400nm wavelengths that means the substrate is promising for SERS application. The Raman spectrum of Rhodamine 6G loaded on AAO substrates was much enhanced.

  • The morphology and composition of as-synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by SEM and EDS measurements. Their optical properties were investigated. The PL peak position of the as-synthesized Si nanoparticle ablated in air is slightly blue-shifted in comparison with those ablated in n-hexane, while it was almost no change of peak position of Si nanoparticles fabricated from p-Si in hexane and original p-Si wafer target.

  • Cotton bamboo fibers were prepared by mechanical method and their diameter were about 9- 26 µm. Surface composition and morphology of fibers were studied. The analytic result shown that most of hemicellulose and lignin were removed. There is a strong and sharp peak in the untreated bamboo spectra at about 1736 cm-1 corresponding to carbonyl group (C=O), but this peak disappeared in alkaline treated bamboo spectra. Epoxy composites reinforced cotton bamboo fiber have been developed with varying fiber contents.

  • Polyaniline has been electrochemically formed on stainless steel in sulphuric acid 0.5 N with and without KClO3. The CV spectrum style and the peak characteristic parameters, as peak potential Ep, peak current Jp, peak charges quantity Qp, then have been analyzed under a consideration of the effect of KClO3. The resistance of the PANi films was studied using electrochemical impedance measurement. It has been found that KClO3 has affected the PANi morphology much more than the CV spectrum.

  • Challenges for the global response to hiv. This progress, however, is fragile and unevenly distributed. HIV incidence is increasing in some countries and regions, and too many new infections are still occurring: 2.6 million in 2009 alone, contributing to the current global prevalence of 33.3 million. 3 Although much reduced from their peak in 1999, new infections continue to outpace the number of people placed on treatment. Most people in need still do not have access to antiretroviral therapy, and demand is growing.
