The normalized difference spectral index (NDSI) was used to determine significant wavebands that showed the best correlation with leaf ozone injury. The correlation coefficient (r) between NDSI and OIP were ranged from -0.79 to 1. Normalized difference spectral index, NDSI [R564,R568], and NDSI[R558,R573] were identified as the best Pearson’s correlation with leaf ozone injury percentage with correlation coefficient more than 0.96.

Transposable elements (TEs) are interspersed DNA sequences that can move or copy to new positions within a genome. TEs are believed to promote speciation and their activities play a significant role in human disease. In the human genome, the 22 AluY and 6 AluS TE subfamilies have been the most recently active, and their transposition has been implicated in many inherited human diseases and in various forms of cancer.

Understanding interactions between bone and muscle based on endocrine factors may help elucidate the relationship between osteoporosis and sarcopenia. However, whether the abundance or activity of these endocrine factors is affected by age and sex or whether these factors play a causal role in bone and muscle formation and function is unclear.

In the past decade, the identification of gene co-expression has become a routine part of the analysis of high-dimensional microarray data. Gene co-expression, which is mostly detected via the Pearson correlation coefficient, has played an important role in the discovery of molecular pathways and networks.

The revolution in fluorescence microscopy enables sub-diffraction-limit (“superresolution”) localization of hundreds or thousands of copies of two differently labeled proteins in the same live cell. In typical experiments, fluorescence from the entire three-dimensional (3D) cell body is projected along the z-axis of the microscope to form a 2D image at the camera plane.

The working group of G. hirsutum germplasm accessions was characterized for Distinctiveness, Uniformity and Stability testing. Subsequent analysis of data was done to study the genetic diversity available among the accessions using principal component and clustering of 320 cotton germplasm. Under field and laboratory, 26 qualitative traits and 14 quantitative traits were recorded. There is no variation observed for gossypol glands, anther filament colour, male sterility, boll bearing habit and boll opening.

This study quantitatively assesses the association between age and cervical joint position error (JPE) and compares JPE between young and older asymptomatic subjects. Subjects (n = 230) ranging in age from 17 to 70 years volunteered to participate in the study. Cervical JPE was measured for all subjects with the active movement angle reproduction test in degrees using a digital inclinometer; testing was done in all cervical movement directions (flexion, extension, side-bending right and left, rotation right and left). Subjects were divided into two groups: young (n = 169, mean age: 32.

Charities Invest in Volunteers in a Variety of Ways. Thus far, we have discussed investments in paid staff and in volunteer management practices. Hiring someone who has training in volunteer management also demonstrates a greater investment in volunteer management. To derive an overall assessment of investment in volunteer management, we combined these three items into a single measure, describe below. Investments and Benefits Vary Together. We expect that the charities that invest in volunteers will be those that say they derive greatest benefits from volunteers.
